Another school shooting (Ct).My heart breaks for all those families who lost their little children ,and the others . I do not think gun control would help, because evil people would not obey that law anyway .But I do believe that less violent movies would . This later generation has grown up on gory-bloody awful TV and movies. This , I believe has caused people to no longer respect human life.I have never watched a rated r or X movie but even seeing the previews is disgusting. Years ago ,no bloody scenes were allowed . All that violence has to have some effect on the mind. Praying for the families. we need some sort of metal detector check at all schools .

More laws will only hurt law abiding citizens. It is illegal to drink and drive, yet millions of Americans do every year. Some are caught, most get away with it. Bob Costas said, "What I believe is, if he (Belcher) didnít possess/own a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today." It didn't stop Chris Benoit, nor would it have prevented the Belcher tragedy if Jovan was hell bent on murder.

It's the mother of the Adam Lanza's fault. She should have had an abortion and not been a gun enthusiast!

I am a gun owner and enjoy shooting. However we have to be open minded and realize that we do have issues in regards to the ease of having assault weapons that can fire at an alarming rate. Especially when we can easily buy 30 - 100 round magazines or drum magazines to use. I for one understand that normal people do not have to have weapons that can fire at that rate, unless you are a military or law enforcement personnel.

Making them illegal will not stop criminals. Drugs are illegal and you know how that is working out in Rowan County.

If Obama and or any other politicians and celebrities get on tv and say that we need more gun laws, no one needs a gun for protection, etc., I want them to disarm their Secret Service agents, bodyguards, posse, etc., before they judge what I need a gun for.

I am not saying anything about more gun laws. I don't believe anyone has all the answers to such a complex problem. However I am sick of people saying there is nothing we can do. Shit happens. We are tired of excuses. Sitting back and doing nothing or trying nothing is not the answer. I am a military person and have seen combat first hand. I know what can happen with some of these weapons FIRST HAND. But again I am not saying more gun laws is necessarily the answer. However I am simply saying we have a problem and WE AS A PEOPLE NEED TO RECOGNIZE IT AND NOT PUT OUR HEADS IN THE SAND AND JUST SAY OH WELL WHAT CAN YOU DO. Just say ok we will ALL work together to come up with something to ensure, or try to ensure, this will not happen again. Or at the very minimum WE WILL TRY TO KEEP THIS FROM or make it harder to happen again. Why is that soooooooo damn hard to understand people. Try to see both sides for once. And not your personal interest.

No one needs assault weapons with 30 to 100 round mags.I agree that the common person needs a pistol or a hunting deer rifle, but only the armed forces need assault weapons. I believe that this law should be enforced immediately- Not wait until the next shooting spree!. WHY would a common citizen need any gun able to shoot 30 or more rounds? This is too stupid to even put an argument for such nonsense.

The problem with that logic is who then will protect us from "ourselves". A disarmed nation is vulnerable. Why do u think the UN has been trying desperately to have u.s. sign these gun treaties? An armed society is important for balance. We need to wait to see all the facts of this case. It will probably be shown that this was a case of the mental health community failing once again like in most of these horrific incidents. But taking my guns will do no good. Here is an analogy to leave you with. Cars kill more people each yer than guns. Do you need a car that goes faster than 70 mph. No you don't but you want it.

So many mass shootings this year. A couple of them have botched details and the shooters dead. I just find it slightly coincidental that all this has happend and the U.N. has been trying to get Obama to sign their "No Guns" treaty - making so only police and military have guns. I know that people will think that's bs - but the facts are out there and people have been saying this for awhile now - even before the election. Let's see now what he does. I know that a lot of American's are not going to give up their guns willinigly but I am sure they've probably got scenarious ran for that. All I'm gonna say is guns don't kill people - other people kill people. Movies do not make people violent - they choose to be violent. Making something illegal does not stop someone willing and determined to not do it. Think about all the laws broken in a single day. There's no way they can protect every school, theatre, public anything. They just don't have the man power. It's sad that someone would do this to kids of all people - but I believe - just like the previous "mass" shootings this year this was staged and at a time when it would hurt the most and to the people it would hurt the most. There's nothing like the death of children to motivate the people for stricter gun laws feeding right into Obama's hands. Good luck people - we'll see what happens.

Nobody is telling the truth. Adam Lanza stole those firearms from his mother. The only good thing to come out of this tragedy is Adam Lanza taking his own life!

I do think what would help is if all schools had armed security. That checks people at the door for guns because that boy was not even registered to have a gun. And family members who are not going to help the class should not get to just go into the school. his mom wasn't even there right? And the son is a man even if she did lock up her guns i'm sure most family would let their grown relatives they trust know where the keys are. So at the end of the day if a person wants to do damage they normally can. That's why I think having a system that makes it nearly impossible would be the best solution.

He SHOT his way in with a Bushmaster AR15 assault rifle. He did this while firing at a rate of fire that no one security guard could have stopped by themselves. Adding to that he was wearing body armor and had extened magazines which held over 30 rounds each. Sorry but one security guard would not have stopped that kind of fire power. But I do agree with the over all logic of having a system to make it nearly impossible to enter.

Everyone needs to compromise and work towards a solution to ensure something like this never happens again.

I may not need it but I want it. I don't porn or hbo but I like it. I don't need a sports cr that goes 150 but I like it. It is not about needs. If we just went by needs, nobody would have anything. I don't need an ipad but I like it to respond to morons like yourself.
