who else thinks RCSHS takes things to far and that getting rid of a couple of higher ranking individuals. Asst. principals etc. would be good for the school

I thought that high school was atrocious, but truth be tone, life is far more fierce.

You sound more like a immature student.

Tish is a very loving person. When I attended RCSH she was always a joy. Sure she raises her voice at the students at times. Whom among us have not raised our voices at our kids? If you truly are a parent, you are setting a bad example for you kid. Life is hard, and it does not help to complain about every little thing that does not go our way.

I think where they should start is with Tish Lawson, she is not a high ranking individual, maybe in her own mind but that is all. She is very rude to both the student and the parents. I happen to be standing in the lobby waiting to take my child to the doctor. Tish came out of her office and yelled very loud and rude, very unprofession to a group of student walking to class. Knowing her grandson. He walks by with a group of friends right after the first group goes by and there was not one harsh word said to them, unlike the previous group of student that was in the lobby. I believe that she needs to be removed from her position ,maybe put in central office. Get her out of having an active roll with the students. She's a want to be!!!!

My experience with her was always pleasant as well. When I was a student there, she only raised her voice to those students who were doing something inappropriate. That's called looking out for the students.

I very much agree. Mrs. Lawson is very nice and Mr. Murray is the nicest principal RCSHS has had. He will take the time for students unlike other administrators in the past.

they have to many people trying to be the tops dogs and they contradict each other. there needs to be one person whose head in charge so we can actually get things done instead of tip toeing around issues and backing down on rules that are made. i believe they need to get rid of a few teachers though or at least have student reviews on the teachers because of course the teachers are going to be good when Murray comes to see them teach like a few times in the year but what about when he leaves. not all teachers but some are just awful.

I can say I have had dealings with Mr. Murray. He is a great leader and a man of his word. Obviously, some people must not remember some of the past administrators. Anyone who says anything bad about Mr. Murray needs to take a good look at themselves in the mirror. He deserves respect from the central office administration and parents of the community. He is an excellent leader and does not put himself above anyone as other administrators at the central office tends to do. It will be a great loss if Rowan County loses such a qualified person as principal.

I grauduated in 03, and I am so glad i'm gone from there. I hated every minute of it except for early mornings standing outside. Some of the teachers were cool. Mr. Suttle was the bomb. haha. Mrs. Brown was only there for the "smart" kids. College is way better. Oh by the way, I signed up in high school to go on a tour of the college, and she didn't take me becuase I took the easy way out of high school, didn't think I would do anything. Hum!

I wish some of these kids at RCSHS could have been around when Marvin was the principal . That's back when you would get your ass BUSTED with a paddle . Marvin didn't care who you were either , girl or boy , rich or poor . I had my share of welps at the hands of Marvin and I think I'm a better man for it . He made alot of big boys look pretty small and alot of pretty little girls look pretty goofy for acting up with that paddle. Everyone knew who the boss was , and everybody respected him . When I hear kids complain about school these days , I just have to laugh at them . But Mrs. Brown was the same back then . I loved Mrs. Griffith though , She liked me so much she made me take algebra twice !

<quoted text>You are so right about Mrs. Brown. I am so glad you are being successful. She was my guidance counselor when I was in high school and doesn't seem like she changed. The sad thing is she is employed at the board office as Mr. Moore's snitch and still doing the same thing. She is double dipping. She is drawing retirement and Mr. Moore is cutting teachers right and left to help pay for the central office staff. Central office could easily do without high paid snitches such as Patti Brown and Nadine Griffith. Also, to be included in that is Penny Alderman. She causes so much turmoil in the high school with her high expertise knowledge and downing English teachers for portfolios. Get rid of them and put the money back into the schools where the students really get some help.
Yep, their also paying Alvin Ratliff to sit in the lunchroom for an hour a day, even though they have major budget issues. Marvin takes care of the old retired people, but doesn't build/help young teachers.

RCSHS has went down since Mr. Williams left. They made him go to the middle school. I hear Mr. M is leaving and Mr. Ginter is going to be the new principal. Mrs. Stafford is a total bitch.

The way I look at it is to help EVERY child and not just the up-to-do parents children or her friends children to get scholarships as she has always done. It is ashamed that Rowan County is wasting money on such a person to be a snitch right now. She is double dipping. She is drawing retirement and Mr. Moore is cutting teachers right and left to help pay for the central office staff. All I can say is that the current English teachers allow the students to do their own work and not personally edit it as she does. I know. I was a student. Ms. Alderman totally altered my portfolio to suit herself. This is the way Mr. Moore keeps Rowan County Schools looking so great. He has his personal helpers. Get rid of them and put the money back into the schools where the students really get some help.
I totally agree with you.

umm well i would have to say that mr. murray is a pretty good guy i would hate to see him leave we have some pretty ignorant staff members that take things WAY out of proportion and take all the rules to the next level murray is the only one who listen's to students views and thoughts they others just ignore you and dont really care what you think for example "tardys" is always taken to the next level and we all know that when prom comes around everybody goes so idk why they even worry about threatning us 6 tardys is a low number considering the time we have to go to class
