thanks for the kind thoughts but Sandusky will be in prison for the rest of his life and my children are girls, I believe his particular prediliction is for boys.

Maybe you don't get it or maybe you're of the mind that 'everyone gets a trophy and everyone is a winner'. Me, I feel like we as a society have softened things with this approach. In life there are winners and there are losers, sports can be the first lessons about winning and losing our children learn. They can learn first about winning with grace and losing with composure or they can be taught that there are not consequences for mistakes and your attitude is how you want it to be and everyone just has to deal with it because that's just how you are. I saw an incident between a coach, working hard to make a program better, and a young man that lacks respect for authority. Was coach Woods out of line? Maybe when he pushed the young man but as far as the rest, I don't have a problem with it. Why? because I have been in that situation, being dressed down for a mistake I made and I learned how to accept the criticism even or especially if I did not like the manner in which it was delivered. That is a skill I carry with me today in my professional career, I am able to deal with the criticism without losing my cool because I learned how in my athletic career where it didn't mean the difference between being employed or not.

I have no idea why you would say this disgusting comment or how you think it should have anything to do with this conversation. I only stated how I felt about what I saw and why I felt that way, you don't like it? too bad. That doesn't give me liberty to make the implication that I think your children should be molested and raped by pedophiles.

I personally think like most of the posters on here that the coaches actions were over the top!

Salt Lick girl, I am glad he had a nice Thanksgiving and is enjoying the television but I wonder if he is thinking that your responses on here are as classy as I do. He holds an important position as the coach and your just making him look worse.

here is the article that I found on WKYT this morning
Ky.(AP)- Morehead State first-year coach Sean Woods is facing possible disciplinary action after appearing to shove Eagles' point guard Devon Atkinson during Wednesday's 81-70 loss to Kentucky.

Athletic department spokesman Matt Segal said Thursday the situation is being discussed internally and any disciplinary action would be announced Friday morning.

Atkinson fouled out with 5:51 remaining, and an agitated Woods shouted at the senior as he walked toward the bench. The coach then appeared to shove Atkinson in the back, pushing him forward, and continued yelling at him during the timeout.

It was Woods' second intense sideline encounter with a player this season. During a 67-45 loss at Maryland on Nov. 12, Woods was seen yelling in the face of Chad Posthumus while the junior center was sitting on the bench

Seems like he is starting a pattern of personal moments with players in public. Doubt anything will be done but at least it has been noticed. My personal opinion, players spend so much time with their coaches and learn their habits, his actions were not good SPORTSMANSHIP.

Well stated.. I also participated in old school sports and developed self respect and respect for others. It appeared too me that the young student athelete was recieving exactly the kind of corection he NEEDED and will benefit from these type of lessons.

It's not like the player is a child. He's a grown man.
I'm sure he got pushed a lot harder by UK players. Nobody's complaining about that.

I agree. And if anyone heard what Coach Woods said about college players thinking they are "entitled" should know he feels the same way.I don't see where he done anything wrong by putting a back-talking brat in his place.

Well in perspective two incidences with players revels Woods' frustration which shows underlying pressure from some source.
Calapari said Woods misspoke when talking about UK players, giving Woods the benefit of the doubt. the actions of Woods makes me think he doesn't desire a break, but rather he needs to control his temper and his language.
I was there at the game and close enough to see that Woods called his player a F__ ker. Now I don't know about you but there is never a reason that any coach should use such language with a player! Clearly if that were my on I would have been on the court right then.
Woods seems to act like he is entitled to some slack since this is his FIRST real coaching position, but slack is not the right word for it.
From my point of view Woods needs some counseling which I am sure Morehead will not recommend this course, more than likely they will let it slide,
What ever happened to playing sports with integrity and sportsmanship that proves our collegiate arena is filled withd profession index individuals?

I think in this day and age,the inmates run the asylum.Kids today expect respect without having to earn it.Look around its everywhere.A senior in college should have sense enough not to poke sticks at the bear. That said, the bear should not have allowed himself to be goaded into a public confrontation. That is what the locker room is for.

The player should have kicked his ass. I don't care if the player did anything or not he is a student. Come on Andrews fire him now. We don't want this person associated with MSU. We don't want that crap going on at our school. It isn't like it wont happen again.NO MORE MONEY FROM ME UNTIL HE GOES.
