I have popped on this site about once a week for the past 6 months to see what is being said about Shawn "Stumpy" Stump. I went to MSU with Stumpy and was his Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity brother.

I am going to post some pictures of Stumpy and his fraternity brothers from Spring Break to prove that I am who I say I am (might prove some of his lies about drinking and partying as well) and to let him know that I disagree with his campaign tactics and his lies and hypocrisy.

Remember The True Gentleman Stumpy?

The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe.

- John Walter Wayland

Also Stumpy, you run around town running your mouth to old fraternity brothers about "Phi Alpha". Well Phi Alpha doesn't stand for a bunch of lies and lunacy. You are an embarrassment to SAE and you would be an embarrassment to the town if you were to cheat your way to victory in the sheriff's race.

Now, let's talk about goodness vs. kindness:

Kindness Stumpy is what you display. It is an external facade that makes you look good. Make no mistake, good people have kindness as well, but so do many bad people.

In your case, you use kindness to help you win votes. You have to take pictures or seek out folks to interview you when you do kind things. It is all for show and all for your own selfish needs. There is no way to deny that. You save the day and then run from person-to-person looking for someone to give comments to.

Goodness is what makes a good person good. It is internal and is something you would do without the cameras and the pats on the back. I do not see goodness in Stumpy. I see a man who claims he is a disabled veteran, claims he is a man of God and claims he will do good things with the sheriff's badge.

The same man making these claims runs around seeking out self glory, tearing down opposition signs, harrassing people who publicly display Carter signs, blasting folks on Facebook, harrassing people who truly are disabled and spending hours a day on a ridiculous gossip website.

Goodness?

When Jack Carter wins the election, it will be Thank Goodness in my opinion.

The difference between me and Stumpy "uh do it" is that I don't pretend that my past is perfect. I have broken laws and raised as much hell as anyone and will be the first in line to tell anyone that.

You have a select few that want to see those pictures because there are select few that care enough about you to be on Topix looking for them.

Lets setup a website to show Rowan County the true Stumpy. I am certain there are many skeletons in his closet. You summed it up well, 'preacherman'. When Stumpy had to recite the The True Gentleman, he probably did so with his fingers crossed and his mind focused on the after party. He should have been 'black balled'. No doubt he left MSU owing the fraternity dues.

This by far is the best and most accurate post to any thread that I have read concerning Mr. Stump so far. I just hope that the people that proclaim Mr. Stump to be the chosen one truly finds out who he really is. It is scary that some people are putting him up as an idol or some type of prophet;that really is concerning.
Phi Alph to my SAE brother who actually demonstrates and lives by the True Gentleman Creed and is wise enough to see through Mr. Stump.

No matter what you say, Stumpy is still the right man for the job....i'm tired of seeing Rowan County tax dollars going to someone driving around in a cruiser, playing golf and dining out of Rowan County....and who knows what else! Come on people...think about your tax dollars at work here. For once, we have someone that is doing a great campaign and it is really upsetting the others....it's time for change......it's just time!

What do you mean "no matter what you say"? That's the dumbest statement I've ever read. It matters a lot what I say - particularly considering that it's all true. You would really want your precious tax dollars (which is all a farce anyways - that's just a statement ignorant people make when they have nothing else to stand on) in the hands of a man like Stumpy?

I still vividly remember Stumpy rolling up into Homecoming in 2001 or 2002 with a trunk load of "Phi Alpha" clothes and memorabilia that he claimed were his during school. He was selling used hats and t-shirts to college students for $20 and $30 a piece.

Stumpy is basically the reason I have no interest in SAE, and lost interest in it very quickly. He still owes money to a pledge class for work done on his former property on Christy Creek. He is a blowhard and a liar. Everyone I know hates his guts. Known fact.

I have to agree with my brothers here. And I can tell you that be careful for the "change" you are wanting. It may not be what you expect. I should know.

why dont you dig into YOUR past and present the public with YOUR dirty laundry. geez, people are so desperate to make stumpy look bad, that they are grasping at anything. EVERYONE has done stupid things in their past. What Stumpy is NOW is what matters. And you call yourself "preacherman". I think you need a different name. Your attitude and words are a disgrace to anyone who truely is a preacher.
