You are right on that they don't care about any thing that goes on in the schools. It is safer to keep our children at home any more.

I just don't understand some things he does...I always liked Marvin, always supported him and Lucy, and took up for him when people would say bad things about him. But now...........I just don't know.

I think he was a better principle than superintendent. He should have stayed as a principle. I am not impressed with his job as a superintendent at all. He wants all school aged children in his school district going to his schools. It is a parents decision on where their child is getting their education, either public, private or home schooling. I have heard that if a teacher that works for the school system has a child that does not attend public school he will question their business and get quite nasty about it. It is not his business where the kids go. That should be up to the parent, not him. He is just wanting the government money for every child that he can get Uncle Sam to count in his system.

Have you ever heard him explain his reasoning? Because I have and it makes damn good sense to me. He's not so much against your child going to a private school as much as he's against you working for public education and getting paid a hell of a lot more than private school teachers but sending your children to a private school. The point being that if a public school system, ie, Rowan County, is good enough for you to work in and make 35,000 plus a year (depending on experience and education) then it's good enough for your child to attend and if not, then take your education and experience to the private school right along with your child and make about 15,000 a year. He's saying practice what your preach...

It sounds like you need to go back to school. Are you trying to say "Years ago, the guy over the sports department at the High School had an inappropriate relationships with a senior?" I was a senior when that happened and although allegations were thrown around about this "incident," it was never actually proven to be true. Due to this fact, I have a feeling that it was all a rumor started by the student that was actually involved in the rumor. The last time I checked, it also was not in the superintendent's job description to be a counselor to all of his employees. It shouldn't be his job to take care of the personal lives of EVERYONE that works for him. Do you even have a clue how many people that is. For example, you don't hear about Steve Jobs controlling the personal lives of his employees or about Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, have little "sit-downs" with all of his employees. There's not enough time for Mr. Moore to do all that. If you all are complaining about Marvin not doing his job now, how on earth do you think he could do it if he had to worry about the personal life of every single employee under him?

If it was a student under the age of 18 he has a legal obligation to stop it and report such to law enforcement. It is against the law for an adult to have a sexual relationship with a minor. When I was in high school in the 70s a female teacher was having a relationship with a minor at that time and she got by with it. Matter of fact the teacher is probably still living with her. That’s just disgusting.
That being said I have known Mr. Moore since he was a couch in the grade schools, he must have done something right or he wouldn’t be where he’s at now.

i hate the Rowan county school system.... i think the state needs to step in and figure out what in the world is wrong with our schools... Rodburn is the only school in our disttict that is a good school.... outside of that our kids are seriously screwed.

I beg to differ that Rodburn is the only good school. Tilden Hogge staff does a tremendous job and they are all working hard to help their kids. Good principal and good staff. Take a look before you make comments like this. If you hate it then leave.

The irony about all the stuff he wants people "to believe" is that he really does support Private Schools. Wasn't he on the Board at one of the Christian schools long before becoming Superintendent? It's not his fault that private schools are increasing in attendance. Parents will decide what is best for their kids and place their children where they believe is best. Mr Moore is a great disciplinarian but he can't control what public schools have become. American public schools are in ruins. May God bless America and our schools.

I'm with you on this. I really think he's letting the wrong people advise him on some things. It also bothers me that he is so wrapped up in image. I think this has caused some of his actions to be questionable.
