So I've always been a frequent customer at Pop's but the last few times I've went they have really pissed me off. The hostess lady is ALWAYS rude no matter when we go. She acts like you're bothering her. I mean, that's the face of your business. The first person you see when you walk in the door. Why can't they have a somewhat cheery hostess working? You know, someone that actually makes you feel welcome.

Also, how much prime rib do they stock up on for Saturday nights? It's like playing the lottery trying to get there early enough before they run out of it. They've been out of it the past two times I've went and I got there at 5:45 or so.

I don't always eat out so when I do, I like to enjoy it without being pissed about shitty service. Man....service everywhere in Morehead sucks. I can't wait to move away from here.

I can't speak for the sit down places in this town because I never frequent them. I don't even know where Pop's is. But the service at most all the fast food places sucks, with a few exceptions. Most act like they're above so much as smiling at you. I realize making minimum wage blows, but I've done it too and could always bring myself to be courteous.

I really enjoyed POPS when they first opened but the last two time we have been in there, they have been out of everything, there was 4 of us both times and each one of had to rethink what we wanted because they were out of one thing or another....last week I drove past there and there was a for sale sign up........ Might be because of the service and the unavailability of items

After 45 minutes, my waitress admited that the cook hadn't even started on our order yet. Ever watch the cook at a Waffle House? There's someone that works for a living.

I ate there for the very first time last week and I LOVED it. The waitress was so nice to me. She gave me a free sample of the bbq meat to try, which I of course ordered for my meal. It was soooo good. I really enjoyed it and plan to go back.

They're moving to a new location so they probably cut back their ordering quite a bit so there would be less to move and he employees may or may not be going with them due to location so that could have something to do with the attitudes.
I'll give them a chance at the new location for a month or so and see if it improves before swearing them off

The last time we were there was back in October, so cutting back on ordering doesnt make sense, also doesnt make sense due to making customers upset, I hate bragging on a place and then it doing a complete turn around on service and food. I have worked in resturants and understand waitress and other staffhaving bad days so that doesn bother me, but the food needs to be consistance, the new location isnt far at all, would rather have to move a little bit more than lose business. I dont understand the comment about the emplyees may or not be going due to location, its just a couple of miles away. I will give them another chance when they move and keep my ears open to what people are saying.

I guess that's not the reason then. I have no idea what the circumstances are, those are just thoughts that came to mind as possible reasons. I'm not trying to argue with you, just come up with possible reasons for the bad service and keeping it positive instead of negative. Don't get so huffy. Maybe it's not them who were having the bad day if you jump back at people like this all the time. sheeesh.

If this was directed at me, I am sorry but dont, think i was huffy at all, I stated that waitress' having a bad day doesnt bother me cause I have been there, everything else i stated was also my opinion, and that I didnt understand the reasoning that employees would be in a bad mood because they may or may not be going to the new location when its 2-3 miles down the road.

I don't care were you go to eat every once in a while you are going to get a meal that wasn't up to par. And the prime rib deal is first come first serve, that's not exactly a cheap meat to take a chance of not selling plus it's winter time business is probably slowing a little. Adam busts his butt at that place but he can't look over everybody's shoulder every second. Honestly though if you think it's that bad stick with your mcdonalds. I'll admit I've had one bad meal there but I still go there atleast twice a week since he opened so I say that's pretty good. The new location shouldn't so anything more then just grow his trade.

So did Pig Out BQ go out of buisness if that's where Pops is moving to? Or is Pig Out moving somewhere else? I really liked Pig Out BBQ. Never been to Pops. Pulled BBQ sandwiches are my fave.

Yes, it was directed at you and yes, you were huffy.

Pop's is the best. I have eaten there many times. No complaints whatsoever. Everyone is always friendly as they can be. The hostess up front is always nice. I'll wait for decent food any day.

It's not every once in a while...it's every time I go there. And I'm not even upset about the prime rib anymore, I understand it's expensive and they can't afford to waste any of it. It's the fact that the first face you see when you walk in the door is a grouchy, ungrateful lady who acts like you're ruining her day just because you want to give her restaurant some business. I understand that working with the public isn't pleasant...I do it every day, but at least ACT like you want my business. There are plenty other establishments around here that will more than happily take my money, but I chose Pop's and got snarled at. I hardly ever eat out anymore...and I don't eat McDonalds or any other fast food place for that matter. If you can't handle the pressure of customer service, find another job.

I have been a BBQ judge at several sanctioned events and I can tell you Pops would NEVER win any competition that I've judged. Brisket is the worst. They don't have a clue. Pulled pork is horrible. Overly greasy food. BBQ'ing is truly an art. Not every wanna be "weekend backyard" grillers can make it in the restaurant business. I wish them the best but I know for a fact they have been told many times about their poor quality and service. They won't last long if the continue to operate this way. Shame too.

Running a restaurant is a labor of love. It is well known that it is the hardest business to run, more than half fail within 2 years.

Yea, ive been there a few times. Every time I went the lady was grouchy and did not seem to want my business. Can't she fake a smile every once in a while for the sake of DOING HER F-ING JOB?!
