Overheard people talking today that Florida is starting to crack down on the interstate pill pipeline by putting ginger in them to stop people from snorting them. Anyone heard this or is this a rumor?

No on the ginger thing. Just because you make it so someone can't snort something doesn't make it so that they can't abuse it.
Florida still doesn't track people that get controlled substances like Kentucky does. So a dealer, dealer's flunky, or addict can travel to Florida and hit several doctors and pharmacies for several prescriptions. In Kentucky you can't do that. KASPER (Kentucky All Schedule Prescription Electronic Reporting), prevents that. It's a system that all pharmacies report all controlled substance prescriptions to. It works and Florida is irresponsible for not implementing this.
There have been some attempts to change the dosage forms of some of the more abused drugs in such a way as to make them less abusable. They haven't been extremely successful and it's a slow process for the drug companies. Not to mention that the drug companies make money off of the drugs whether they go to Joe Bob Cancer Patient or Earl the Dope Dealer. They're in no hurry to cut their own profits in half- sad to say but true.

Glad they are starting to add ginger to the pills which will stop the snorting of pills. Furthermore, hopefully they will continue to turn away out of state people that are contributing to the drug pipeline in KY. That may stop the snorting. Now they need to start tracking like KASPER. The drug pipeline into KY that is destroying the youth in our area!

Actually Florida and Kentucky are joined in KASPER now so whoever the hell goes to Florida both states can see who has been "doctor shopping". Why does it matter if they put ginger in pills (which they don't) if you all don't do drugs it does not matter, it's not your problem. Some people have stuff wrong with them, the people who don't have messed up everything for anyone that actually needs to go. I mean are cops just going to pull over every KENTUCKY car that drives on the damn pipeline, NO I have a broke back what could they do to me for choosing to go to FL. TO GET MY MEDICINE???????? Not A damn Thing. And its the youths choice to do the pills or not to and don't give me that peers talked them into bullsh*t you have a mind of your own.

Actually you are an idiot. Florida and Ky have not joined in KASPAR. Florida will be setting up a system of thier own similar to KY. But the final details have not been worked out yet. You can get your pills any where you like as long as you have a legitimate illness or injury. But you can not get them in Florida and KY both that is dctor shopping and that is against the law. This new law will make it difficult for anyone to get prescription pain killers unless you really need them. Thank the state of Florida for finally doing something to regulate their prescription drugs.

actually florida and ky do work together under kasper, cause i know a few ppl that have been busted due to kasper. i dont do the shit and dont get involved in it myself, but i still dont see why everyone has such a prob with it. no matter what it is or where the users have to go to get it.....the bottom line is that they are gonna get em, so why make such a big fuss over it. the only reason the law is making such a big deal about it is because ppl are makn money and the government cant tax it. therefor once again, jus a bunch of jealous ppl that are mad cause someone else is makn money!!!!!!!!

Actually your still an idiot, FL does not work under KASPER. That is why you can go to down there and get all these meds and still get meds in other states like OH. That is why the debate is going on, the reason people are getting busted more is now it is illegal to fill your perscription in any state other than FL. God watch the news every once in awhile.

Because people are pharmacist with these pills. They are mixing the wrong ones, taking too many, and dying from it.Kinda like playing chemist with a meth lab.
Ain't like it was 15-20 years ago and pot heads were numerous.Pot's one thing but these people are playing with fire with pills and the meth. And they are going to get burned. Then another family puts another in the ground.

What does a drug sniffing dog have to do with anything???? If you legally have a RX in your name, aren't f*&$#@* up driving, and aren't over using your medication there is nothing they can do. There are just too many idiots making the trip, and they are the ones that are going to ruin it for those that need the medication....

A friend of mine went to Georgia to visit his sister and at the Georgia state line he saw a flashing road sign that read "GO HOME PILLBILLY'S. It is a shame that is what KY is now known for pills instead of horses and bluegrass isn't it?

Actually as long as you have a scrip and the name on the bottle is yours and the count is correct there is nothing that any law enforcement agency can do to stop you. If your not under the influence while driving then they have to let you go.

Why do you have to go to Fl to get your meds? There's plenty of good hospitals in Ky...
