I seen a comercial on television about a week ago anouncing the opening of a weight loss clinic in Morhead, Ky and was wondering if anyone else has seen it and if they have any information about it. Like where it is and if it is worth it. I am not over weight but my sister is and I am trying to find something that may help her. She dont have insurance and her exercises and dieting suck, she isnt losing any wieght and i would love to help her out more. If any one has any information on this clinic please let me know. Thanks

It is out by Tractor supply. It's open on Fridays, 10-6 I think. They give Phentermine, which is generic Adipex. It cost 120.00 and they give you a $20 coupon off your next visit.

The commercial I seen really lead me to believe they are be a place that MIGHT prescribe very strong pills to patients to lose weight and dispense them in the same office.

If this was a pain clinic it would never be allowed to operate in such a way due to the strong emotions /fear here about pill abuse. I was very surprised to see the commercial.

Sometimes weight loss centers have a doctor and sell the pills on the spot, that was my understanding of how this place operates based on the TV advertisement.

So please everyone be careful. Some of those prescription weight loss pills can be very very bad on the human heart. Some people have even compared certain types of strong prescription diet pills to Meth. Lets all hope that's not going to be an issue.

It may be a fine business. All I know is what I seen on TV talked about how they prescribe and dispense your pills from the same office...... I do not wish to say any more.

no, but have been on the med they give. it's no miracle pill. it does help lessen your appetite but only if you are REALLY motivated to lose weight. you still have to eat right and exercise. plus it stops working after 2-3 months or so and you have to stop for a bit b/c you develop a tolerance.

It's not hard to find. It's in one of the strip malls off of US32- Maybe where the OLD Walmart used to be, OR maybe where Kroggers is. I may be wrong but I believe I see it within a corner section of one of those places.

Please keep us advise if they help you. I know several people that wish to lose weight, including one close relative. I just hope whatever they prescribe is safe, as another poster did mention it was not that strong of a prescription.

yes, pretty much everthing said was right about the med. I once used it for about 6 mths. I lost about 20 lbs, but I've gained it all back plus a few extra :( I had some side effects whiled taking the med. it made my blood presure go up (I was red all the time, looked like I was sun burnt) and I had trouble sleeping if I took it past 10:00 a.m. but you're right...I didn't ever think about food until the 3 mth point and my body started getting used to the med..so I was basicly went back to the same habits. Good luck to all that try!

Well, then maybe this place wont be the boogey pill pill I had feared. When I was younger I was average weight, but had some close friends that tried their best to lose weight. One of my best friends had a doctor put her on something called (it's been a long time, my spelling may be wrong)- Didrex... I think, or something like that. Dang! That girl almost died. She stopped sleeping for days on end, started cleaning house 24/7, and talked so fast we just blinked our eyes at her because she would not wait for the other to say anything. THEN came the day she CLAIMED she had lost her pills. Good grief, that was my first experience being around a person in severe withdrawal (druggies call it jonesing). I think she slept for a week straight until she got her next prescription THEN she was admitted to the hospital for symptoms of a heart attack- at 28 years of age!

Yes she lost a lot of weight, and quick too. But the side effects almost killed her and cost her friends too. But the only problem her boss had was the time she missed from work. I guess she was working so fast he employer thought she was a great worker (if they only knew the truth). With the popularity of Meth, I feel we need to remember that some diet pills are very close, or are, the same type of stuff. As long as this Morehead diet place avoids prescribing THAT kind of stuff then maybe they can actually help patients without killing them.

Peace.

People that I know that have went to this clinic have been on Adipex a lot before and even abused it. Sure they lost the weight and loved the speed affect it gave them... When they went off of it, the weight came back with extra weight with it. Now they have went right back to the new clinic in town to use it again to get skinny. If they had of changed their eating habits and not sat on their a**, they could have kept it off. But when they hear the word Adipex, they go for it. That is the same as being addicted to prescription drugs. This person even paid an overweight person to go to the dr to get the pills and then bought them from her because she could not get them. Now, once again, after getting all fat after quitting the pill, they walk into the Horizon Weight Loss Center to get their drugs.

I am starting a new weight loss clinic. No pills, no gimmicks. Just stop eating everything in sight and get your ass off the couch every now and then and do something. You think you can take pill and lose weight and keep it off? The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE. Stop shoving the twinkies in your piehole. Walk a little ... ride a bike. It is hard to lose weight and even harder to keep it off. But, the only way to do it is to change what you do - forever.

It's true if you don't work the program and change your lifestyle they will not help. If this place works like a true weight loss clinic: 1. you have to be so many lbs. over weight 2. you have to show improvement and weight loss each month or you will be cut from the program. I think it is great for someone whom wants a little jump start with their weight loss. I've learned losing a little is a great motivation to getting your lifestyle in check.
