Better fake news than The Daily Show?

WASHINGTON - White House advisers have stepped up their attacks on Fox News, claiming the cable television network is a Republican mouthpiece whose programming "is geared toward making money."

Several critics questioned the wisdom of the move while one of President Barack Obama's top adviser pledged Sunday that administration officials would still appear on the top-rated cable news network.

Last week, White House communications director Anita Dunn said Fox News operates "almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party."

Faux News is the propaganda arm of the Republican Party. Joseph Goebbels would be very proud of the
Republicans if he were alive today. As it is, he
smiles down upon the GOP with loving admiration.

The GOP is part of the Goebbels' legacy!

Truly a witty and well-reasoned rationale!!! Well done! Kudoes to you!

At least you didn't try to deny that Faux News is NOT NEWS! It's strictly entertainment for the mentally deficient!

I don't have cable or satellite tv. I have no opinion on Fox News. But I do have an opinion of the government attacking any news organization. I'm not surprised that this whacko president wants to shut up the opposition.

Ah!!! So you don't know WHAT you're talking about! Thank you, that explains a lot!
Kinda reminds me of those 'protestors' at the Health Care Town Hall Meetings. They didn't know WHAT they were protesting about but they sure were eager to show their ignorance!
Good Work!

Ok, Obama won't appear on Fox - it's not a news network. So that explains why he appears regularly on Letterman 'cuz you know, David is so unbiased and trustworthy).

It is very concerning that the White House is taking this unprecedented position and trying to limit free speech. I am now begining to believe the conservative pundits of whom he is so afraid.

The US citizenry appears to be in distinct danger of losing thier civil liberties. Unless, of course, we all march in step with the party in power, and voice no opposition - or even disagreement.

So far, Faux News has referred to our legaly elected President of the United States as : a 'rascist', a 'hater of White People', a 'Nazi', a 'Socialist', a 'Nazi-Socialist', a 'liar', trying to 'brain-wash the youth of America and God Knows What else.
As far as I know David Letterman HASN'T referred to ANY President (EVEN BUSH!) with any of these terms!
The term "Fair and Balanced" although copyrighted by Faux News, cannot (in good concience) be associated with Faux News!

Thanks for pinging that!
It's so refreshing when conservatives "rush" to point out each other's ignorance.
And ALL of that was uttered on the Faux News Channel!

Continue your denials beginning..........NOW!

Liberals - please do not so blindly following the masses.

Please try to keep an open mind. You may be surprised and enlightened to find that there is more to the story than what you hear on CNN and MSNBC.

I am ashamed to say that I voted for Obama / Biden. I agreed that it was time for a change. I felt (and still do) that Obama (but not Biden) is a highly capable, intelligent man that can do positive things for this country.

To date, that has been far from the case - maybe because much of the rest of his party is too angry and spiteful, I don't know.

But I do know that this country is spiraling out of control with an amazingly rapid paced loss of checks and balances - and a frightening decline of civil liberty.

Congratulations on the first part of your comment!
After that first part you started to fade and at the end you lost touch with reality completely!
Are you on drugs?
The "angry and spiteful" party is the 'Party of No' the Republicans. A fact that is demonstrated every time they say 'NO' without reason or without a plan of their own!(other than their plan to take back the POWER they so desire.)
The "spiraling out of control with an amazingly rapid paced loss of checks and balances - and a frightening decline of civil liberty." Is a DIRECT hangover from the 'Bush Failure' Administration! As demonstrated by the.........well by the Bush Administration. As perfectly orchestrated FAILURE since the Harding Administration (or Hoover admin.)
I suggest you cut back on your dosage. Take a nice nap and start over (with OPEN eyes and ears this time)

Bushs fault again Merv? When are the dems/YOU going to start taking responsibility for the actions of this administration. How's all of Obama's campaign promises working out for ya? 3.5 million people out of work are ya happy yet? I was better off last year than I am today. Obama's new war on free speech and trying to shut down fox news is another bad example of what Obama is all about.

The Obamamaniacs regret that Bill O'Reilly can also explain this degrangement on the Internet, and that Savage guy can do likewise on his radio show, like ya know. I confess, that I view and listen to the once-pretty once-perky teleprompter-reading pseudo-journalist Katie Couric on CBS, if only to laugh at her and her Democrats...she being their rich bitch.
