Yes, I saw the 20 floor tall building. Ask how many people work there, eat there, and live around there.
How many file cabinets of paper, single function office machines, and art-deco from the 1950's?
Those office buildings have bad fire escapes, they cant take a person down using a carry bed, or wheel chair. Only 1 person can go down the stairs, about 5 foot 10 inches and a 40 inch waist.
I heard some new buildings as of 1994, have basket ball court parking lots, tennis court parking lots, indoor gym. Remove that for a better employee cafeteria. The employee's too tired playing games of tennis, basketball and gym.

These people who are losing their jobs better look at their savings accounts. They've made plenty of money on cheap, unreliable products for a long time. Maybe its time to sell one or thirty of your toys and start looking for a job. Don't go to any foreign automaker though, they only require one person to move that dashboard 3 feet. Not the 3 people the UAW contract requires.

Now, people regret losing those old blue-collar big-dollar GM parent and granparent and sibling safety nets; out of luck now that they cannot spare just a few bucks for gasoline, groceries, rent or stuff for the kids...like they always did. No, they can no longer to support their grown children and the bastards and brats that they breed but cannot afford to support or feed.

Tell us all about it after your parents kick you out of the house and you have to get a competitive local service-and-retail, part-time temporary seasonal associate, job and compete in the global-baloney economy without a blue-collar daddy or mommy.

Don'tcha just love it when Civil Servants tell us allllll about the global-baloney economy and free trade without bitchin' about competition, like those in D.C. who have been spending without thrift or efficiency or results, more like spoiled children instead of adults?

Max', the kids have never known hard times.
Generation iPod is certainly going to get an education in this downturn though.
Like my parents and grandparents told me of the Great Depression, today's youth'll have something to tell their grandchildren. If they can find them that is. Generation iPod reproduces and ducks-out on their responsibilities and the children born of these 'loving' relationships may know 4 or 5 'daddies' before they're 18 years old.

Says yet another one who never set foot inside a factory, or quit after whining a short time if he did, too good and too smart to shoot screws and pay union dues; envious and jealous of those who stuck it out and put in their time in the heat and the grime, those that didn't get fired and got to retire.

He's probably also never lived paycheck to paycheck, skipped school, started fights, knocked anyone up, collaborated with his coworkers to hold up production so they could enjoy holiday overtime ("might as well come in, nobody does nothin' anyway" - a local Union member), stalked a coworker who kept working while his mob was refusing to work, reported to some kid 20 yrs his junior who got lured into the plant too, said both "I'm desperate to work" and "I'm not [flipping burgers/moving away/other honest jobs they think they're too good for]"...

My, my, my, keep those dumbass assumptions and assertions coming! The communist mentality: He's got a good job and money with benefits! Let's ruin it for him and we'll all feed better! Gee, things are tough! Why ain't they buying our stuff like they used to? I mean, what's the deal? They ain't drinking or buying meals! They've even quit tipping and going to shows and events! I mean, they could and should at least not quit spending and loaning us a little bit! By the way, all of my anonymous unknown some-people-say sources always seem to agree with me, at least that's the word I heard from everybody who knows.
