i bet these are the same people who have leaf blowers blaring at 8am on a sunday morning....quiet zone only applies to trains, not to them...

it's ridiculous and when someone gets hurt (or killed) by a train, are they gonna complain about the sirens??

If you are too stupid to pay attention to the flashing lights, choose to go around the crossing gates or pay attention when crossing tracks, you DESERVE to get killed by the train. It's called "natural selection" and it isn't as common as it needs to be in this day and age. Ever see the movie "Idiocracy"? Explains the world we live in to a T!!!

Previous stories about this issue have claimed that train traffic there is up more than 3 times. If you ever lived anywhere near a train crossing, you'd understand why the people are angry. I used to live in Perrysburg OH. When I first moved there, I couldn't understand all the for sale signs. Later found out the tracks had been out of use for years and had recently been put back into use. Certainly explained the signs.

You could tell some of the conductors were trying to minimize the horns and others seemed to have the horn hooked to their johnsons the way they LAID on it.

If people actually paid attention to their driving when operating a vehicle and obeyed the law, they wouldn't be getting hit at crossings. Train horns are just another source of noise pollution and another way that enables stupid people to continue to breed.
