Isn't anyone concerned about the cover-up that surrounds this? No photos, no names, no arrests. Something is a little fishy here!

What would be covered up? The years of inaction on the City's part where there was a known like danger.
In this case what could they do, no controls or laws would have stoped this guy. Cover up the fact that this is one of many many super speeding incidents on Stanley. My guess why no info is because the procecutors are building a case and are being careful, and/or they don't want to further outrage the comunity adding fuel to the fire as a townhall meeting is coming up on the subject. Maybe its for the safety of everyone involved. I don't know. But I'm guessing some of the apperent lawyers on this forum would could shed some light as to why they don't release any info. Many people know his name, where he works... I don't think there is any cover up, its just the slow wheels of justice?

Before you prosecute the driver of the BMW, you should know, I've known this person for years. He is a God fearing person, who has spent a great deal of his life helping others, from living a healthy life, to learning religion AND encouraging people to believe in themselves to help acheive their goals. Toxicology reports show no alcohol, no drugs etc! It was a terrible accident, for sure, but you should wait to hear all the circumstances before you attack this person!!!
He was God fearing? So what, can he explain how after Noah's ark when they were the only people left on the planet, where did the Koreans come from? He should be hung by his testicles. Then God can go easy on him for time served.

This is the worst wreck i have ever seen. It makes me rethink how fast i go sometimes. I remember seeing a black car that i couldn't even identify. It was bad. This is why I put my wife in a 7000lb gas eater. We all will answer to a higher judge one day but for now we have to let the law do its job. Lets all think about our own driving habits and how fast we push our multi thousand lb cars.

There is no town hall meeting on the subject. Coincidentally there is a traffic calming meeting next week, previously scheduled, regarding a stretch of stanley blvd. Traffic calming isn't meant to deal with this type of crime. This is murder, not some soccer mom going 45 in a 30.

I have to agree with you on that. I spoke incorrectly, townhall/traffic calming. Yes murder/manslaughter.
Traffic calming can't do anything about the murder/manslaughter component, its only the component of speed where controls could be put in place to impede/keep people from reaching those speeds. I don't think it would have saved a life that day. Even if he was slowed to 50 he wasn't stopping, so he may have made it by the stopped cars but not the cross traffic. Somone was going to die.

Being that I've been Dale's immediate neighbor for three and a half years. I was the first to find out from the sheriffs,Dales fate,I was horrified to find that the accident i drove by was the one he was involved in. My first reaction was to kick the grass and yell out "fuck" not him. Not this kind, simple, mellow dude. Now i pose a question? Being the person that did this is an adult and lives off Bacon Way, does he not know of the high school. Does he not know how to turn a key off? Very simple, that even a cave man can do it.Not to make light of this situation and tragedy, but to me there's no excuse. This was a homicide. Dale, I am glad to have known you and will follow this case to completion, may god have mercy on his soul. He will need it. Juba 808

do you have info about how or why the accident occured? you said turn the key off was the accelerator stuck? when i was in middle school that happened in a caddy and it nearly missed some kids and then flew into the creek(walnut creek) from what i heard he allegedly blew some stop signs and crashed into the poor victim? anyway brakes are usually more powerful than the engine. i have had the accelerator stick under the floor mat in my turboed and chiped truck and the brakes still stoped it.(425 hp 700+ ft lbs torque) anyhow i am curious to know about the cause of the accident. sorry about your friend.

The driver does not come from money. He doesn't live in Lafayette and as far as I know he does not have connections that would prevent prosecution.

WE HAD A WONDERFUL MEMORAL FOR DALE YESTERDAY . WE HAD A VERY LARGE TURNOUT OF DALE’S FRIENDS AND FAMILY. THE MEMORAL WAS HELD AT THE MARTINEZ GUN CLUB, WHERE DALE WAS THOUGHT OF VERY HIGHLY. I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR COMING AND CELIBRATING DALE’S LIFE.
Now that we have said our goodbyes to Dale (although he will never be forgotten ) we can now focus on being sure that justice is served to the killer in the BMW. If anyone wishes to write letter or call the Lafayette Police encoring prosecution for this crime this would be a good time. The address is
3675 Mt Diablo Blvd # 130, Lafayette, CA, 94549

"Lamorinda" is not serious about slowing drivers down, or prosecuting those who commit crimes in cars. David Caspillo of Tracy, the man who used his BMW to kill Dale Zenor in front of Acalanes high school last March, has still not been brought to trial. I think the police and DA hope the community forgets about it, so Lafayette's idyllic reputation won't be tarnished by the truth.
