People usually could care less about the status of their emergency services until they need it. Then they whine like brats when things don't work out like they "Assumed" they would. This is what happens when you neglect your emergency services. Gee, I wonder why I don't have to pay taxes like everyone else???

Contra Costa County has never had a truly "County Fire Department". It pay as you go and Walnut Creek and the West End all get a diffrent level of service.

Both the residents and the Supervisor are lying through their teeth that they didn't know there was no fire protection. Every time a fire hapens on those islands it's reported in the Contra Costa Times that it's outside anyone's jurisdiction. Selective amnesia and "poor me, I lost my house" doesn't change the facts. I'm sure they haven't taken steps to correct the situation.
