I have always marveled that a guy like Soteras could stay on as president of the chamber and maintain this cloak of respectability, managing to apparently fool so many people while lying and cheating and becoming infamous for sleaze? Just look at how long it took to blow the whistle on Jerry Sandusky. There is still hope.

I am currently living in a rental owned my Mr. Soteras, I love where I live but must admit I have had some negative experiences with him. Mr. Soteras has made sexual comments directed at me and has been less then proactive about repairing problems with the rental. I'm also mentally preparing myself to never see my security deposit again despite the fact that the rental is in better shape now then when we moved in. I would suggest that any one goes to look at a rental and sees Mr. Soteras get back in your car and drive away.
Holy cow, I dated this guy in 1989 and boy was he a creep. He changed clothes on our first and only date and comes down stairs wearing his bath robe. I told him to please bring me home. Back flash to the night it snowed in Southern Calif. I was only 19. He drove me home in his robe. So these posts do not shock me. He was a creep then, and he's still a creep. I am married now and thank God that part of my life is OVER!!!

Alex Soteras felt that he was above the law. He hurt a lot of people financially and emotionally. The judicial system turned a blind eye. The city officials turned a blind eye. However, GOD did not turn a blind eye. He was not above his law.

When is there going to be an investigation on this guy. I have won (3) judgements in small claims court and he still hangs up on me. I moved out close to a year ago. He has at least (3) other civil and fraud cases against him and here he is in the Acorn every week with some other prominent politician. He stood up and lied under oath in court. Anybody out there listening.

They found Alex dead last week. They didn't say what he died of yet. My first thought was to wonder if one of his many fans killed him. Personally I don't give a rat's ass how he died. What I do know is that a lot people will not get screwed because he is gone and a lot of young girls will not have to deal with his rude bulls*it! The story of Alex being able to rise to the social heights he did with the chamber etc and stay there despite everyone in town quietly knowing he was a slime ball should be a lesson to every voter and every citizen. Do your post graduate home work.

Since I have been in the community for quite some time, I've conversed with this person more than once. And, unfortunately I fell into something, a woman that used to work with him at his office, and dated him or what have you. She picked up some very nasty habits from this peace of work. I will no longer go near her. She is now running churn and burn rent scams out of her home, similar to this guys M.O. She picks on people that cannot afford to fight for their rights, treats them like garbage, has a wanton disregard for the law. Her name, well last name is F d. And she is a "Professional Victim"... This one is extremely dangerous. If you come across Craigslist Ads for a home in Kevington area of Thousand Oaks, CA,,, renting out rooms. Run away! She is a mentally disturbed person with lots of drama, police at the house all the time, she files false police reports, provokes confrontations, extorts money from tenants, etc. etc... She has her son living with her too. Loud screaming through the night.. She belongs in a cage, in my opinion. Another psychopath that this guy helped create.

I just decided to Google Alex's name to see what he has been up to. This man is everything that has been posted on this Forum and more. The fact that he continues to intentionally steal from his tenants is both illegal and immoral, and I can't believe that he is still an officer of the Agoura Chamber of Commerce. Someone should start a public campaign to PICKET AND BLACKLIST every participating member of the Agoura Chamber of Commerce until he is booted out. Is this the kind of treatment these business owners condone for their customers?
This is so weird to read. I dated Alex when I was 19 which was in 1989. I got this weird vibe from him when he changed into a bath robe and drove me home from his Agoura condo to Simi Valley. It was the night it snowed Feb. 1989. He and I had gad a few dates prior to that and I think he thought there was going to be more to the date than just dinner. He told me that he had never had a girlfriend and that struck me as odd. I ran into him again at the Canyon Club in 2004 and he appeared to be doing okay. He showed me his Lexus and we agreed to meet for dinner in Westlake. He acted like a troubled man. I never saw him again after that and thought, geez people really don't change a bit. I had no idea he was into men and I'm thankful that nothing ever went beyond dinner.
