I'm an old friend of Barb's and have just today heard some very disturbing news about her in a rather circuitous way and want to find out if it's true.
Does anyone know her and can tell me if something's terrible has happened...

I've seearced the local news and google but can't verify anything.

Thanks, John

Dear staff,
It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that Barb Russell has passed away. Barb was a long time member of our staff and will be dearly missed. At this point I know very few specific details. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
We will have a staff meeting on Monday morning at 7am to be together during this time and to discuss the plan for counseling for the day. I hope to share more details and arrangements on Monday.

Thank you 'friend', I could not know if this news was true due to the strange route, but not knowing has been awful today. I've just kept hitting F5 and hoping for news.

I'll miss Barb terribly and can't come to grips with knowing, I'm not going to see here again...

It would come as no suprise to anyone that knows me, or knew us as "Fred and Ethel" that not following Barb to NC to marry her was the biggest mistake of my life.

John,
Ms. Russell was found by her daughter yesterday morning. She passed away from a heart attack.

She is going to be missed greatly. We should continue to keep her and her family in our prayers.

I very much appreciate the help given here. I found this site only yesterday, for this purpose, and a glad I did.

I'm sure that I will find the information re: the arrangements being made so I can send flowers and my love and condolances to her family, but can someone lead me to the local paper that would list this information...

As I write this... I'm so thoughtfull of how Barb would have been so ready to tell me what I've done wrong in my puncuation, etc. I've missed that too.

@ "student of Ms Russell":
Thank you for the information. I will pass it along to our classmates.
All of us are heartbroken and shocked beyond belief... Numb with grief for her beautiful daughters and her students, for whom, she obviously deeply cared.
The fact that there have been 750 people who have joined her memorial page on FaceBook speaks volumes; let alone the many personal and heartfelt stories that have been shared...
What a beautiful soul to have graced our lives <3
