This being his 2nd DWI and twice the legal limit, he should go to jail for a long time to pay for the life he took from this young boy and the boy's grieving family. We have to let people know that society is not going to tolerate this type of wrecklessness. People have got to start thinking before they get behind the wheel of a car with alcohol or drugs in their system. Our streets are too crowded to tolerate this type of behavior.

I agree- most drunks don't mean to hurt someone/screw up/drive drunk- but they do and that can be lethal! 2nd DWI means this drunk wasn't scared straight and got sober enough to know not to get behind the wheel after drinking. Drinking is legal in the US but you must stay home and not drive!

My boyfriend witnessed the accident and said it was appanent that not only was he was drunk but the man was on medication that wasnt supposed to be mixed with alcohol. After drinking, he got into the car and killed Carlos. I honestly dont remember the boy's face although everyone said he is such a hard person to forget. My condolences go out to his two little twin brothers and the poor mother that has to live without the comfort of her son, not only did he die on Mother's Day but it was also the date of his birth. May he rest in peace.

I think if you are responsible for a childs death by car because of Dui you should be sentenced to life in prison cause you can not bring the happiness nor the life of child back to that family.
and I should know my son was hit by car and there is a lot of bitterness there even though I dont know weather the man was drinking or not he is alive so I have a lot to be thankful for but he is not like most normal young men his age but I do thank God evey day for his life.

I'm Carlos' youngest aunt and I am still trying to get over his death. We miss him so much and life without him has proven to be hard! He was born on April 30, 1996 and on that day, my family can truely say and angel was born! He brought nothing but happiness and love to our family. Even though, the trial is being prolonged, I have faith that we will receive some kind of just. A man with evil intentions like that should not be on the streets with our innocent kids.

This guy should be locked up and key thrown away. This was such a senseless act, and when you act as a maniac, you should be treated as one. Everytime I ride past the place where Lil Carlos was killed, my heart aches. It aches because he was so young and didn't have a fair shot at life, it aches for his entire family, but my heart aches most of all for his mother. Children are the greatest gifts to their parents and Epris had to experience the loss of a child, and on Mothers Day. I dare not question God, but I continue to pray for this situation and the people in it. I love you guys and stay strong.
