Why is everyone trashing our law enforcement officers. They are trying to clean up the county but according to some people on here, they are too busy running women. Well, how would you know for sure unless you were there waiting in line for your turn?

Hardy county residents are more worried about what is going on with the lives of others instead of what is going on with their own families. Their is talk about everyone in the town, some how or another. Family turns against each other, friends back stab, just so they are not the talk of the conversation. I must give credit to the law enforcement for working on getting the drugs out of Moorefield. What they do on their time is their business, as long as it is not with my significant other, why should I care to run my mouth about their lives. I want the protection from them for my children, family and friends. Those who are involved with the officers are just recognized more because we should look up to them and trust them with our lives. How are they different than all those that work at the chicken plant or AWC and mess around? They are no different. A whore male or female will mix the wrong person in and screw that family up, just to have a few minutes of sex. People need to realize that our lives do not revolve around the world and those in it. We make our lives the way they are. Only you can make a change for the better. Be thankful for what the officers are doing. And if you are one of those that is trying to get in good with one of them, think before you make that step. Your grass is no greener than the rest of Moorefield.

I think they are doing a pretty good job myself. There are so many drugs in this county and I know it is a slow process but it will take time and it certainly won't happen overnight. For each one they get, thats one less we have to worry about. Also, some people are forgeting that they have numerous other things to deal with besides drugs. There are accidents, domestic cases, breaking and enterings and etc. The one thing I really don't understand though is when they have sobrity checks set up, why do they let people know where it will be and the times? They probably could catch a lot of people then for more than DUI.

I have to agree with you really. Moorefield used to be a nice, quiet little town ever since I can remember. Kids could play outside without parents worrying about them. They were usually at the neighbors house. I know things have changed but I think a lot of it is what people make it. Everyone used to help one another but nowadays they just turn against one another and find fault in everything they do. That is not the law enforcements fault.I know things are not as safe as they used to be but everyone should try to pull together and try to correct that.

Concering your comment relating to check points, the answer is: Its the law. Law-enforcement has to give a motorist essentially an "out" they have to have places for motorists to turn prior to coming into the check point. They have to advertise that the check point is being conducted. So if you get caught your a dummy!! Its not designed for the honest person. Its because an attorney at some point argued against the check points and won. Therefore law-enforcement had to modify accordingly. Go figure...
