That is the point and you can't seem to see the point. No marine radio and there are PLENTY of adults doing the same thing. Going boating with NO Marine radio.

I HAVE a jet ski a boat and when ever I go out I take my MARINE radio with me. Just because it is a jet ski, is that is a reason not to have a marine radio? What kind of logic is that?

I'm done with this. You people can't even see how some good can come out of this tragedy.

acually there was no way it could really be prevented. he was trying to get his girlfriend off the jet skii and his arm was touching the pontoon boat railing when the lightning hit the antenna. it ran through the boat and hit him. he has a burn from the railing that goes from his elbow to his wrist.

I am sorry for the family's loss.
We were around the corner at a house when the storm came up. As soon as we heard it, we took the boat out of the water. We passed right thru where this happened <just moments before> to get to our boat landing. We have been caught off guard with fast approaching thunderstorm enough times that we don't wait anymore.
As soon as we got our boat out and to the house (.2 miles), the lightning was on top of us. Anyone who was still on the sand bar or at Mill Creek beach would have been running for shelter.
Most of the time the bad weather comes from over the trees at Mill Creek and we don't see it right away.
Thanks for all the support all you have gave. Korey wasn't not in the wrong. We love our son very much and will miss all so much.

Most of the people in the world know that it was a freak accident. Don't worry about the others. They do not matter. Bless you and your family!

I don't even go out on the water on a day like this when there is a high chance of storms. No matter how nice it may look when I get up.
I just don't get it. Seems like every day we read of another person being killed by doing something stupid.
VERY IGNORANT STATEMENT!!!!

Well let's see.... In your first post you said
<quoted text>
You said the person who was killed had no common sence(sic) and was being stupid. This would be the exact defintion of a personal attack.
You can get down of your high horse now and just stop posting. You are only digging **** deeper for yourself.
totally agree with you...no need to call him names.

last week I was driving and a storm came up and in 5 minutes the parking lot where I was parked was over 3 ft; almost couldn't get out!

so...this could have been the same thing. came out of nowhere.
