The richest 7% of American families saw their average wealth soar 28% from 2009 to 2011, while the remaining 93% of households lost 4% of their net worth over that same period, according to a new report.

The analysis of Census Bureau data by the Pew Research Center

the average wealth of the upper 7% of households jumped to $3.17 million in 2011 from $2.48 million two years earlier

Fed policies have supported gains in stock and bond markets.

“The Fed has kept things pretty good for the wealthy,” Wolff said.

Look, I realize situations can vary from person to person, and from household to household, but, has it EVER occured to those trying to spread division amongst the classes that maybe, just MAYBE that the most wealthy among us probably didn't get that way by luck or accident? Isn't it just possible that they have a brain that is smarter then the average bear and FORESAW much of what is going on in our economy, and made the appropriate steps to avert it? And when they made the steps to avoid being hit by this economy, maybe it actually worked, which is why you see the figures, if they are indeed correct?

And yes, the "little man" has been screwed over in the past, but not as often as Washington would have us believe. Also, that screwing over doesn't HAVE to happen. The little man could look ahead himself, do some research/educate himself, while times are good, and protect HIS interests as well, yet more often then not, he chooses NOT too. Or they blow their money on beer, and NASCAR racing tickets.

Also, the top 7% are the ones with the jobs, so instead of b!tching about how much they make, you'd better hope they use that extra money to hire someone to work at a job that belongs to THEM (The 7%) to begin with. They aren't under any moral obligation to hire your stupid, whining, pathetic a$$. The job doesn't belong to the employee, but it DOES belong to the employer. THEY own that job and are letting you use your skills to work it in exchange for currency.

Thats kinda the point. Unemployment is high and their profits are soaring and they are NOT hiring more people. Just pocketing it for themselves.

Does it matter? Does any situation call for them making hundreds to thousands of times more than the average worker?

"Earned" because they choose how it is distributed. Back in the 50s wealth was pretty well evenly distributed. Since then productivity as went through the roof and workers wages have stagnated with the upper echelons reaping all the profits. That money was "Earned" by them too.

Sure it does. The average worker can't find his own
state on a map. In Louisiana they have pictures on the
ballots so the illiterate can vote. It takes upper
class people to lead the ignorant.

Know your place and stamp in on time.

No one makes a million ( sports excepted ) via investing
and uses grammar and punctuation as you do. Without an
education you're still common dirt.

A single million is still peanuts. I wouldn't have your
pickup parked next door.

Most very wealthy children are trust fund babies. They don't have a use for an education or jobs.

It only seems that way to ' sour grapes ' types.
Wealthy children attend the best colleges
( think Bush II and Yale ).

Go ahead and believe the wealthy don't deserve
success.

W went to college fifty years ago. It was where the kids could find the best parties back then.
Now the in thing is to travel all over the world to find the best parties. Going to school interferes with that agenda. The wealthy I'm referring to have an endless supply of money, so why would their kids need to go to school? Of coarse there are exceptions.

you're such a pompous bastard. why do you need to try to act so superior? is your spouse cheating on you with one of the 'servants'? you need to act like a big man on the internet because your real life is in shambles? how was your fake trip to Europe lol

You don't know any wealthy anymore than I socialize
with the yard crew. Si Señor. Tell your children your
sour grapes excuse for why they're excluded from
university. Not that they'd be admitted ever.

Austria was lovely this time of year. Bratislava
is coming alive too. Wonderful city filled with
people who want to work and party.
