If you click on this link, it will take you to another article on this same issue. At the bottom of the page, someone wrote in the names of those who trashed this bill. They need to hear from those of us who want the issue of illegal aliens being addressed correctly. |

I might be a little naive here, but I thought we elected politicans to represent the people of the state of kansas, not the business owners of kansas, has this changed? Granted business owners are voters and pay taxes, but I still think the citizens of this state are not being represented by their elected officals. Now if they want to start writing laws to let the everday person get two or three chances at breaking the law before anything is done about it, that would be a different story, but I don't think that is the case here.It sounds to me like the state senate is cossing up to big business, is anyone taking a good look at this? We have anew attorney general, maybe he needs to look at why the senate is taking care of big businesses interset instead of the citizens of this state.

What we have to do is identify those politicans who vote for business and not the people on this bill. Then throw the bums out the next election. After a couple of election cycles the politicans may get a clue about what the people want, not special interests.

a constitutional amendment baring amnesty for border jumpers is the only answer. all viable candidates for president are pro border jumpers. and your kansas politicians go the same way. a constitution change will be a long and hard strugle but worth it.
|
||||
|
all politicians get their orders from other than friends of working Americans, people with the big bucks. a constitutional amendment baning amnesty for border jumpers and guaranteeing punishment for immigration law breakers is the answer. that means federal laws selfish little men and women at the chamber of commerce can't get around. constitutional amendments are hard to push threw but worth it if we want to keep our freedom. if big business can't ship the jobs over seas they import cheap labor and we pick up the tab in health and welfare benefits for this cheap labor. the other crime popular with business is the outright labor subsidies given to business, many think government is doing us a favor but we have to compete with those subsidized wages. i bet they don't teach these facts in any business or economics collage course.

Brazen little whinny thing now aren't you. FYI- I have held an office and no I was not voted out I served both terms. How many blocks have I walked? Now that funny, try hundreds of miles. I bet I have donated more than you have and volunteered more time than you ever have. So when was the last time you were at a presidential debate? When was the last time you were invited to the inaugural ball? When was the last time you did anything besides run your mouth? BTW-"the observer" doesn't suit you at all. |

You voted these fools in now vote them out!Representation of the people, means all the people legally in the U.S. as well as Kansas. E-mail, send letters and make calls. Put up billboards.....you have voices! We in NE voted on and passed term limits. We're weeding out the pro-illegal senators and if the new ones don't listen they'll be voted out the next go round! Good luck!

Since the government uses the patroit act to profile people, why don't we apply it to immigration, if you look mexican you will be detained unlawfully ( see GITMO) and held deemed guilty until your innonce is proved, this process could detain lawful naturalized citizens for years just to insure they are citizens. It has worked to shorten the war in Iraq(unlawful/illegal act) so it could work for this. This country is going downhill like a snowball bound for hell, I don't thing stopping a few illegal immigrants will help, lets concern ourselves and our efferts for important things, like ending the war in Iraq, solving our skyrocketing unemployment rate, our downward spiraling economy and our piss poor health and educational systems. Our school and education systems are rated #23 in the world, maybe this rates a lillte higher on the scale than illegal immigrants
|

I second these feelings!!!!!!! |

Senators, this is exactly what I was referring to and I do believe it needs to be brought to the attention of your constituents....you represent them, not the lobbyists and businesses that can hire illegals for less than your constituents. Shame.....and this certanly has nothing to do with my lack of judgement as Senator Julia Lynn accused me of having.
