We used to go compete at the NIDM and the armed team overall seven consecutive years in a row. We are intrested in attending this year if you can have at least 20 teams competing. Our unarmed team won 6 out of eight years attending the meet.

Marching is a waste of time.

You can't kill anybody by marching.

Are you referring to the Moreno Valley High School Viking Drill Team or another Moreno Valley team?

The values of drill and ceremony help all military personnel. Open your mind.

Oh, how so?

Marching is just another useless anachronism the military holds to so dearly.

The value of drill and ceremonies is that on the drill field, an individual learns to appreciate discipline and the need to respond to a vested authority. It also teaches soldiers to follow order promptly and precisely and to recognize the effects of their actions on the group as a whole.

You're welcome to your opinions. And I'm welcome to mine. And I have no problems letting you know that mine come from experience.

In addition to that, sir, the people speaking on this topic are not referring to marching in the armed services and its relation to "killing people." They are asking for information about a High School and Collegiate drill competition for STUDENTS, not soldiers.

And I'll have you know that the young men and women on these drill teams that actually decide to go into the military are some of the BEST officers and NCOs you'll ever meet. And in that military, they learn to become pretty good at defending their country. Not just, "killing people."

Nonsense. The only reason we have a military is to kill people and destroy their weapons. Drilling is useless for that.

The translation of your quote is that you're ignorant. In addition to taking 21 semester hours of college classes at one of the TOP baccalaureate colleges in the nation, this cadet is holding an NCO position in his cadet squadron, and probably serving as a member of the cadet honor guard, an extra curricular activity which requires a couple of hours of practice each day after school.

Would you like to step on your own crank with any more "brilliant" observations Dr. Clueless?

Cadets have no real rank. It's just make-believe. You can get a better education at a real college without the silly-ass marching, boot-polishing, yes-siring, and general BS.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Cancer

You have stars in your eyes and you're in a really romantic mood today. Your idea of heaven is to be with that special person in your life, preferably doing something very nice. If you meet someone new or a relationship gets off the ground today, things will always be rather dreamy and otherworldly between you. It will be as though real life, with all its problems, never intrudes on your time together.
