I moved to Montverde from Clermont and Winter Garden and Oakland to get away from all the big city plans. This will take the last small towm atmosphere living away again. It's a shame that a big business has to tear away any chance that my grand kids have to live in a small town. If I wanted to live in Orlando or crime hills I would have moved there.

Residents need to organize en masse and write to the developers, Walmart, ABC Liquor, and Rooms to Go, and make it clear that they will NOT shop at ANY stores in that plaza - EVER - if they go through with this fraud.

If residents follow thru, even if it is built, it will fail and close. IF it is only a minority that is opposed, or people don't have spines, then Walmart will be built and will flourish.

Don't shop at "Chinese Import Warehouse" -- errr- I mean, Walmart.

1st: This center was touted as an "Upscale" Center for South Lake; Wal Mart is anything but "Upscale".And, WalMart just opened a store 5 minutes away on Hwy.27;why do they need another so close ??.We all know that answer.
2nd: The mix of stores in the soon to open Fowlers Grove Center is what's needed for Clermont or something close to it.
3rd:Were the clients this lawyer is representing, the same one's making the statements to the cities and newspapers about the upscale center they were creating for this area?.
4th: one Walmart and one K mart are more than enough for South lake County !!!.

How about putting it to a vote of the people! After all, we're the ones that should make the final decisions on what is done with OUR land. Of course, as we know, our so called "elected officials" only think of money. I can only imagine how different things would be if the voter's opinions actually mattered.

If you want to preserve OUR land, you will need to open up you checkbook and buy the land from the people that actually own it. I guarrantee it is for sale for the right price. Same old story. Money talks, and your BS walks.

NEWSFLASH: Property rights are not absolute. Any owner must comply with zoning, easements, environmental controls, etc., which regulate property use for the good of all society.

An approval gained through fraud is not an approval. Just b/c they own it does NOT mean they can place a Walmart, nuclear power plant, iron smelter, or airport in the location.

No check need be written, except by the owners to their lawyers, b/c they are going to be tied up in court for the next decade. Not very smart.
