Can i get a new social security number if im a victim id theft? how long will it take? It's doubtful you'll easily and quickly get a new social security number since you're dealing with a federal government agency.
Contact the Social Security Administration's toll free hot-line 1-800-772-1213 (note, it can take 6 weeks just to get your statement in the mail).
Also, if you haven't already, these steps will need to be taken by you in order to have the documentation needed to plead your case with the SSA:
1) File a police report.
2) Contact the (3) credit bureaus to file a credit freeze (depends on the state you live in) or fraud alert.
3) File a identity theft affidavat with the FTC
4) Freeze all of your finanical and banking accounts by contacting their individual fraud departments
