Officer Ragsdale was my middle school officer at Northeast Middle School in Thornton CO. He used to sit with us during lunch often. I am sure he doesn't remember me, but I would love to visit him. I am assuming he is at the hospital here in Montrose. Does anyone know for sure?

yes im pretty sure that its the Montrose hospital. It's sad to see that Dennis had to end his life this way. We bacame aquainteses when I was working for Q&T in Montrose. He would always come in to get propane tanks filled. He seemed like a nice guy whenever I talked with him. He will be missed by some despite the fact that he killed an officer before himself.

I work in law enforcement, and have a lot of friends and family memebers that know Rod. The last information I received said that Rod was in Grand Junction. He is doing well and his spirt is high.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been affected by this tragic event.

the way i see it if the officers would have handled this in a different mannor no one would of got killed or shot.If they would of let one of his kids talk him out there instead out forcing there way in(witch i heard of the police doing in this town) no one would of got hurt.people in this community don't no one of his children wanted to go in and the police said no .

It was an eerie cry that shattered the stillness and the darkness of that Colorado night. We will never know the depths of pain that one endured before his heart was forever broken. His fragile heart now physically shattered past the point of insanity. In moments that felt like hours, heartbeats and breaths struggled for their final earthly chord. Angels gathered nearby with their wings outstretched to comfort our loved ones as their time on earth came to a crashing halt. It was premature, it was unfair, it was unthinkable, it was tragic, it was senseless... But in the twinkling of an eye, the pain and the insanity was gone and they were on their way... on the wings of angels .... carrying them home.

To the family and friends of the David Kinterknecht, words nor actions will ever come close to expressing our grief, sadness, horror and shame for the loss of your beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. The events of that night are still hard to grasp much less understand. Our sympathy is greater than most can comprehend.

We pray for the complete and speedy recovery of offices Larry Witte and Rodney Ragsdale. Your injuries, pain and suffering are unthinkable. Our hearts are heavy knowing what you have endured. Thank you for your service to this community.

To the friends and family of Dennis Gurney we invite you go to Dennisgurney.com to post memories, letters, photos and stories. We have created this Website so that Dennis’s grandchildren will have the opportunity to learn about their loving grandfather as they get older, for the wonderful, generous and kind man that he truly was. Let’s make certain that these children have the opportunity to remember their grandfather not by the tragic events that took place on July 25th, 2009 but rather the gentle, loving grandfather he strived to be.“Later”!!

I am sorry to hear of this tragic event. My brother went to School with him. My parents moved in 88 from Montrose and I haven't been back since. I miss it. The small town is what I miss. I live in Stockton, CA and I must say this stuff happens daily here it seems. It's sad to see that some people feel they must harm anothers family before they take their own life. We pray for everyone. Hang in there.

Pamela Gurney is just as guilty as her husband in the death/injury of these officers. Now she chooses to play the "poor victim" role. Heck, it was her behavior that finally drove him over the edge. I have just one question. If he (Gurney) treated her sooooo badly, why did she not get the hell away from him? Answer is she loved the $$$$ more than anything or anyone else. Greedy trash is all she ever was and ever will be. No amount of money (or 1/2 million $ home) can change that.
Now with her "fat" purse in hand, the hunt for husband #3 is on. Hopefully this time she will find someone as evil, controlling and twisted as she is.

Wow. Guess you don't know my aunt, since you just ran your mouth years ago without even getting a single thing right. What an idiot you sound like. My uncle may have done a horrible thing but he was not a horrible person. He was he strongest man I've known. My aunt and cousins didnt deserve to go through what they had to go through. And they surely didnt deserve to have people like you throwing in your two cents.
