She's a first grade teacher at Issac Dickson..this is horrible.

She is a kind, sweet person - I can't believe she would just vanish like that. School starts next week - no reason for her to just disappear..

When the person is an adult and does not have physical or mental disabilities, you must wait a certain amount of time (can't remember is it is 48 or 72 hours), before they will take a missing person report.

Thanks for the info, I hope the waiting time doesn't turn out to be detrimental for this lady. It just seems to me that the sooner people know the better the chance of recovery would be.

That actually isnt true. When you realize someone isnt where they're supposed to be, you can file a missing person report with the police/sheriffs office in your area. This is likely being reported because she is a responsible person with ties to the community like a good job, family, etc and has probably no history of drug abuse and going missing.

Hopefully she will be found ok and all will be well.

The cops are supposed to know about events before they happen.

More like why did Asheville Police just release a copy of the missing persons report? It would seem that they held on to the report for several days.

Police reports are generally public information, so the reporters for the AC-T have every right to go to the police and ask to see them. Apparently the police have asked the paper to publish a story after running into dead ends in their search. This is why you are just now hearing about it.

Gee, I missed where the date on the missing person report was released.....

The police department doesn't control the media and they do not report to the media unless the media asks/researches.

No, I'd love to hear where it is. I'd love to know how they did anything wrong/questionable/non-common sensible with this case.
