80 million dollars of TAXPAYER money if Beaver can get three signatures. Then they can build a polluting, forest destroying biomass incinerator. No wonder they haven't posted their PARTIAL application for a certificate of public good online.

What a scam.

I hope the town tells this operation to leave town. Spending public money under the ARRA Stimulus package on an incinerator that burns forests, pollutes the air, and dries up rivers is an outrage.

What happens when the get the ARRA money but don't finish the project? Will they return it to the U.S. Treasury Department? HA HA. They will be in the Cayman Islands with our money.

So true: another green-washing job by the same people who brought the incinerators to Maine that went bankrupt and shut down. Wonder how much taxpayer money they got for those deals.

This rush to grab Federal subsidies with no regard for the welfare of any of the people of the surrounding communities or the environment is selfish and greedy beyond words. Science is turning on every aspect of biomass as an alternative energy source. It contributes CO2 to the air at a time when we need climate change mitigation. It fouls the air with particulates, injuring the health of people within a wide distance from the plant. It threatens the surrounding forests with its voracious appetite for wood. It requires horrendous numbers of diesel truck trips to deliver wood fuel and remove ash. The ash itself can be hazardous. And it threatens the river it proposes to suck up for cooling. No permits, or good wishes or encouragement of any kind should be awarded this proposal, but especially in such a rush, without a comprehensive study of every aspect of the negative ramifications of this proposal. There is time to say NO.

Does it surprise anyone that Beaver Wood is refusing to release details of pollutants, etc. to the public?

Whether or not the Public Service Board certifies this incinerator is the litmus test as to whether or not Vermonters actually have a say in their clean energy future.

And if the PSB insists that all the toxic pollutants and multiple other health, climate and forest impacts are inconsequential, at least make the out of state developers pay their whole way, instead of counting on taxpayers to foot 1/3 of their bill. You would think the Tea Party folks would be all over this form of corporate "socialism."

Here's a question for you. Let's say that they start construction by Dec 31 and for whatever reason in 2011 decide to abandon the project. What happens to our $80 Mil? Ours meaning tax payers.

Hey bud, when are you going to explain to us how man-made chemicals get into Vermont trees as you claim? You need to, because it will stop us from seeing you as a liar!

If the project does not proceed, they get no deduction. Now, you want to talk about the 100 billion that goes to the oil companies every year ...and the Arab terrorists?

stop lying. you need to stop lying about your financial gains from this. Please tell the people who you are, before I do. Actually without telling people who you are, I will say you NEED this to go through because you have a big investment in this.

You know who I am. I talk to you at a place you like to visit. You should stop lying to the people you wish to poison.

Ignore this guy, He's a POS, and a bad neighbor. I don't want to get personal, but he needs to take care of himself a little bit more. Put it this way, he's not one to care about your health, when he doesn't take care of himself.

Hey, lets go for the big bucks. The oil complanies suck down over 100 billion from the taxpayer every year. Its been going on for a 100 years. How come you're upset about a break that leads to local jobs? Just not thinking or do you have a NIMBY agenda driving the lying you do?

Is it the job of the PSB to fast track this project so it can get $80 million of borrowed taxpayer money. Has the Board ever approved a "partial permit" before? If so, what ere teh curcimstances. All over the country, biomass developers are trying to get in under this deadline. Taxpayers should be upset about this. THe developers don't care what happens after these plants are built. Because as long as they get a shovel in the ground by Dec 31, and get teh plant built later on,, they can take the money and run. THere could be a lotterry and let 80 Pownal residents become millionaires. That would be a better use of federal money. in my opinion.

FYI, the federal stimulus money comes goes to the developer after the project is completed. As far as subsidizing Big Oil, lots of people think that's a bad idea too. Two wrongs don't make a right.Republicans should be outraged.

Mr. Chic Paustian,(aka TruthTellert), out-of-town landowner who stands to profit on the construction of this incinerator:

I am not a scientist. I report information that I research. If you want to know why the McNeil biomass incinerator puts out those particular chemicals listed in the 2002 Environmental Protection Agency National Emission Inventory--why don't you do the research yourself and get back to us?

Until you do, your communications are really nothing more than noise.

If they did the Town of Williamstown with all of their stuck up people would be on the list of pollutants. You also have that HS that you allow your kids and teachers attend that is an abomination and embarrassment in terms of facility upkeep. Your town officials and School Committee along with administration should all be sent out to pasteur and be charged with ....anything that would get them out of their positions.

Those chemicals are on the EPA's site, and have been reported to them by the plant. Mr Teller of Truth was given a link to the information before. He calls everyone a liar since he has a financial interest in the plant's construction. Ask the McNeil people what process or item is in use that produces these... The NH plant produces much the same rubbish and puts it in the air. Teller of Truth continues to call the real tellers of truth liars.
