It looks like this is a really thorny case. You have the "civil union" law, two women, and artificially conceived baby, a missionary who offers to shelter one of the partners and daughter to protect her somehow after one partner finds Christianity, and wants to be protected by a missionary in another country.
Why did she call herself a lesbian in the first place? We have a really confusing culture where men are paying for pornographers to show women engaging in these acts; we don't see women paying for that, and laws against pimping and pandering, etc., are not being enforced. There are many women who are just fed up with being treated like crap and so call themselves lesbian so they can get away from the predatory men who take advantage.
Ultimately this case is about responsibility, who's rights and responsibility will be honored. Let's hope they act like grown ups and honor both former partner's rights.

The most important thing is to honor the rights of the child, and the child needs to be with her mother.
