If they were all like the one in Brattleboro I am happy for the protesters as they now have something other than an anti nuke protest to go to.

Honestly, I still don't understand what all the protesting is about. Are they protesting Capitalism and the free market or is this class warfare - a march against those who are financially successful? Are these marchers calling for redistribution of wealth aka Socialism? From the outside looking in, they appear to be riled up but lack focus.

sounds to me what they need to do is to put out the facts about candidates to offset the ads....money only buys elections in that it buys tv ads that the 99% believe rather than looking into it themselves.
So, block the whole ad system and the bias of the media by putting out NON-PARTISAN fact sheets on every single candidate for office and distribute them. I men, hey, you got the time and man power, and I bet some conservatives will help with the bi-partisan fact sheets after they get home from work.

And it would be DOING SOMETHING instead of having ANOTHER drum circle...

The truth is that even with this economic contraction we are better off than our parents were and that the tremendous run up in wealth in this country that the protesters think is unfair distribution has not resulted in the middle class being "poorer" as much as it means that the 1% are wealthier than ever.

A huge run up is total wealth occurred in the US as a result of the expansion of computers and the internet. We capitalized on it in a giant way. The total wealth of our country grew as a result.

But is it "unfair" that those who were responsible for the growth in wealth...the Steve Jobs and Bill Gates of the world...got super rich while the rest of us are merely comfortable?

I don't think so. I think we are being fed a bill of goods by those politicians who want to use the issue to get elected.

Are we really worse off than we were in 1975 or 1985 or 1995. Not one bit.

watch as their message gets refined...its not about wealth except that the 99% dont have it...the OWS crowd are mostly college students who are mainly ticked they spent so much money on a college degree and now can't find a job...
its not the art history major...its the system...
its not that they CHOSE a private school over a cheaper public one, its that they paid too much...its not that they took out loans to concentrate on their studies (bong hits) rather than work their way through school...its that the loans they agreed to need to be paid...
these kids actually believe all they had to do was beer bongs and pipe hits through college and they were gauranteed the "good life"...and now they are mad, because they are finding out they needed to have a "career plan" in order to find work...(almost as bad as the union members who think they only needed to land the union gig and they were gauranteed the good life, UAW line workers making 35 bucks an hour)
I also note that EVERYTHING they are using to occupy wall street was produced, advertised, shipped and sold to the 99% by a corporation...

This morning I saw people with anti Democracy and anti Capitalism signs.

I will not support replacing our current system with Socialism.

The media coverage has caused other countries to begin similar protests some have become violent. I cannot support that either.

Imagine the propaganda this is creating for Iran, Venezuela and other anti American governments!

I believe that this protest will incite acts of terrorism against our country and our citizens overseas.

Alex you said, "'Live Free Or Die means either I Live Free or SOMEONE'S GUNNA F***in DIE!!"
Alex, have we really come to death threats?

-State Motto. The words "Live Free or Die," written by General John Stark, July 31, 1809, shall be the official motto of the state.

It was the 1945 Legislature that gave New Hampshire its official motto and emblem, as World War II approached a successful end.

The motto became "Live Free Or Die," as once voiced by General John Stark, the state’s most distinguished hero of the Revolutionary War, and the world famous Old Man of the Mountain was voted the official state emblem.

The motto was part of a volunteer toast which General Stark sent to his wartime comrades, in which he declined an invitation to head up a 32nd anniversary reunion of the 1777 Battle of Bennington in Vermont, because of poor health. The toast said in full: "Live Free Or Die; Death Is Not The Worst of Evils." The following year, a similar invitation (also declined) said: "The toast, sir, which you sent us in 1809 will continue to vibrate with unceasing pleasure in our ears, "Live Free Or Die; Death Is Not The Worst Of Evils."

Yes the OWS is reminding us how much we can be ignorant of our own good fortune. How we can live in the wealthiest society in the history of the world and still be ungrateful for what we have.

it will when they figure out that the answers to their complaints lies in the far right. The candidate they are looking for is Ron Paul.

The owners of this country have always had complete faith in the general stupidity of the masses and their ability to confuse the masses and trick them into voting against their own self interest.
