Butcher shop in Montpelier, late 90s?

I was staying in Montpelier, VT for a few months and used to walk by a local butcher shop there. This would have been end of 1998 and early 1999.
I did some Googling and it appears to be gone. Anyone remember the name of the place? Right downtown, can't remember street names, sorry, but right on the beaten path.

Guessing it was Main Street, or right off of it. Like I said, I was only there a short time, but it was a small shop downtown.

I think you are referring to "the country store" on main street, owned by bill and carol shouldice. It was an awesome little store but was destroyed in a fire.

Oh man, that is horrible. Any idea when that happened? So sad.

May 24 2003. You can google it. The country store and play it again Sam (musical instrument shop) were destroyed. Charlie O's was affected but not destroyed. I used to work at the country store while I was trying to put myself through school. I miss it too!

Wow, that sucks. My friend whom I stayed with worked there too! I used to stop in every week for the few months I lived up there with him. Great little place. Somehow it popped into my head the other day.
Any pictures on the web of the old place?? Would love to see what it used to look like before the fire. Man, that was almost 10 years ago. Wow.
