Would the State's attorney not argue against a defense attorney making the same type of request? Would the state not expect the defense to send another lawyer in their place? There are definite scheduling problems in all courts. Most of which are directly caused by the attorneys themselves motioning for delays one after another. The delays cause back ups in the court. The delays keep the Defendants on the hook so they can not move forward in their lives. And the most important affect of delays is the justification for the salaries of both the prosecution and defense lawyers.

You think the court would pull this on a defense attorney?

The defendants are a bunch of slobs with sloping criminal foreheads and beadie eyes so who needs a trial? Lock the bums up.
