It was pretty clear what you said. You said to simply break the law. What I said was also very clear. Two wrongs don't make a right, its against the law in Vermont to do those things and I advised of the proper corrective action. Any state, county or local law enforcement officer or government official will assist with this issue. They are all very easy to get a hold of. All of your comments are sarcastic. The comment in question was also uninformed and unlawfully suggestive. I would advise you against encouraging unlawful acts but from the looks of it it wouldn't do any good. How ironic would it be if the one who broke the law with the signs brought in those same officials who charged the persons who destroyed the signs?

Is there going to be a Bennington County State Senate candidate debate or not? If so where and when is it?

In the mean time I read that Vermont Secretary of State candidate and former state senator Democrat Jim Condos faces Republican Jason Gibbs in a debate Thursday September 30, 2010 at 7pm at the Bennington Fire House in Bennington Vermont.

Items of interest might be Republican Jason Gibbs leaving the scene if a motor vehicle crash, not reporting same and possibly other legal issues.

VT secretary of state candidate Jason Gibbs left scene of crash for six hours

Very interesting.

Very interesting.
You make is sound far worse that it was. This was not a Ted Kennedy moment
From the article:
"White [State Police Lt. Paul White ] confirmed that Gibbs did not immediately report the accident to police and left the scene, although neither action would make the crash criminal, because the crash only involved Gibbs’ car and no property belonging to another person was damaged in the crash.
“This did not reach the legal definition of leaving the scene of an accident,” White said.“The damage was only to his own car and not any third party.”
FYI-I called DNC headquarters, to check on debate schedules for this area. There is a Senate debate scheduled for Oct.7th at the Bennington Fire House.

Gibbs did not immediately report the accident to police?

HE NEVER REPORTED IT!

Read it again!

State Police Lt. Paul White said Monday that they first became aware of the accident at 6:53 a.m. Friday morning after a school bus driver reported seeing Gibbs’ 2002 Subaru sedan off the side of Route 100.

TIMELINE

00:45 - Gibbs Crashes
01:00 - Gibbs Leaves the Scene (15 minutes later)
06:53 - School bus driver reports the crash scene
07:15 - Gibbs returns to crash scene (6 1/2 hours later)

WHY??????????

Republican Jason Gibbs is a Candidate for Vermont Secretary of State and he handles it like this? What would he do if he was actually the Vermont Secretary of State?

I hope that we never get a chance to find out! I have faith that the voters will handle the election better than he handled this crash!

sometimes i feel like a nut, sometimes i don't!

it was a simple request, why don't you just comply with it rather than run your yap? if you don't want to provide a link why don't you provide the name and phone contact info for the person that gave you this information?

i find it interesting that someone who calls themself Reality Check with an IP also of Manchester Center, VT also said the following in post #168 of the other forum and I quote "Senate debate is scheduled for Oct. 7th in the Bennington Firehouse."

http://www.topix.com/forum/source/bennington-...

thats exactly what you said in post #106 of this forum Susan Wells AKA Reality Check AKA you know who.

as far as the crash goes everyone knows that if you crash your car, you call the police. thats the right thing to do for many reasons. why would you not call police? the police are there to help you 24/7/365 unless of course you are a criminal and then i suppose you would do everything in your power to not come in contact with them and isn't that exactly what Republican Jason Gibbs Candidate for Vermont Secretary of State did? i'm pretty sure he would have the ability to text or phone right with him so why not contact someone right? i bet it did. his lawyer and or campaign manager. check his phone records and see what he was up to in that 6 1/2 hours that he was freshening up for the grand reentry from party time. i'll have to check to see if this one is pro pot and against lowering the bac limits for dui's. that might explain his unethical actions in this situation.

Hey Susan PMB Wells maybe you should let the candidate know because there is nothing about a debate listed on her News & Events page. Funny that you, your judge friend and the DNC know all about it but Blair doesn't have it listed as news of an upcoming event.

I never said or even implied that you were wrong. Please don't put words in my mouth. I'm just saying exactly what I said, "maybe you should let the candidate know because there is nothing about a debate listed on her News & Events page. Funny that you, your judge friend and the DNC know all about it but Blair doesn't have it listed as news of an upcoming event."

I also find it interesting that you take special interest in this one subject and proclaim to know things about it that have not been made public by the parties, candidates or news media. Why would the DNC tell you something that has not been made public yet? Care to share?

Blair has been advised that ALL not just some of the campaign contributions are to be immediately deposited into a special campaign account and not used for personal reasons? Also campaign finance disclosure reports are legal sworn documents that are to include ALL not just some of the contribution and expenditure totals of candidates. She completely understands the laws pertaining to this or any law for that matter?

Someone please explain this? This guy gets no time 0-5 days for killing a trooper in New York where they have stiffer laws but Cook got 2 1/2 - 20 years for injuring two people?

N.Y. man unlikely to serve time in trooper's death

Plattsburgh, New York - September 30, 2010

A driver who hit and killed an off-duty New York State Trooper will likely not serve jail time.

Trooper Travis Capen, 29, was riding a motorcycle through an intersection in Peru last summer, when he was hit by Michael Keenan, 61. Police say Keenan stopped at the intersection but didn't see Capen and started to drive.

Keenan was just sentenced to 5 days in jail and a $150 fine. But he may not have to do the time if he completes a Victims Impact Panel.

It makes no sense other than these sentences are politically motivated. They sure are not fair to anyone involved.

Senate candidate forum

BENNINGTON -- The local branch of the American Association of University Women will sponsor a forum for state Senate candidates on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Bennington Fire Facility on River Street.

Candidates for the two Bennington County seats are Sen. Dick Sears-D, Sen. Bob Hartwell-D, and Republican challengers Patricia Blair and Gerald Woodard.

Bennington candidate forum set

BENNINGTON - A forum will be held Thursday, Oct. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bennington Fire House on River Street. The four candidates for Bennington County Senator will be participating: incumbents Dick Sears (D) and Bob Hartwell (D) and challengers Patricia Blair (R) and Gerald Woodard (R).

Each candidate will make an opening and closing statement and field questions posed by a panel. The forum will then be open to audience questions. Refreshments will be served immediately following, allowing the public to meet the candidates and speak informally with them. Everyone is welcome. This Candidate Forum is sponsored by the Bennington County branch of the American Association of University Women and will be moderated by member Julie Mackaman. It will be cablecast by CAT-TV and broadcast by WBTN, both at a later date.

I find it interesting that the AAUW which advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research is sponsoring this forum. There is just one woman running so I guess the AAUW is looking to advance the equity of that woman. That woman is Patricia Blair.

Ok folks here is your chance to come out in to the open. Don't forget to bring you pitchforks, tar and feathers. Yes, and maybe a few torches. Let's face it this will not be a true debate, this will be a let's crucify Blair event!
