Don't approve this bill, Vermont. Gay marriage is wrong and shouldn't be allowed. But if you're going to insist, at very least let the voters have a say on the issue, like most of the rest of the states have!

Yep, if Vermont does legalize same sex marriage, they would be the third. I suppose one might say the fouth ... we do STILL have 18,000 same sex marriages in CA.

Elmer, I couldn't even figure out WHAT their argument was. Could you clue me in?

Whats the differene between Civil-Union and Marriage? How does the law treat them differently in this state? Is the argument merely over the words themselves?

there's nothing wrong with same sex marriage. I say this because other than nit pickey christians that use their bible to validify their objections, there is no reason to not let them marry. Everyone likes tax benifits, but then would it make common law marriage extent to gays.... so many questions.

I think the problem is when poeple in civil unions leave the state, their union is not recognized. A marriage would be.

Marriage is not Federal. States currently recognize marriages from other states, but that can change at the will of the other states.

Government should not be involved in this. Come up with a gender-neutral term for both and combine "civil-union" and "marriage" licenses into a single "Joining" license. Let the culture at large determine the nomenclature. Governments can't legislate how people feel.

By the way, when did "Marriage" become a "Right"? I'm single so I guess my "Rights" are being violated. Who can sue about this?

I hope they pass it so I can marry my cat and have puppies.

Why don't we just come up with another name for marriage that applies to those who want have sex and live with someone of the same sex.

I suggest we call it "disgusting"

Fluffing the dog and selling the pups! Bring over your Loncoln Logs so we can play Tinker Toys! Playing house can become very confusing to young children with all these new ideas and rules! I wouldn't want to be a kid today!

Yes, you can. HOWEVER, it was initially transmitted how? You see, all cases can be traced to sex between two men.

A recent study states that HIV probably moved from Africa to Haiti and then entered the United States around 1969 through California! Right Steven?
