I want to know why if neither one of them had life-threatening injuries, why did the police officer get taken to the hospital by lifefilght? I hope everyone involved is ok.
Because, idiot, it's hard to tell by the side of the road (unless you are Superman with xray vision) whether someone has severe internal injuries or not. And if you are struck by a semi, there is a very good possibility of grave injuries. How many years have you been an EMT/paramedic, by the way? Or I guess you're a physician? Or I guess you would RATHER that they just assume nothing is wrong and take their time transporting victims for medical care? Just remember your statement when a loved one of yours is involved in a serious crash or household accident, etc. Make sure that the first responders take their time and take your loved one's life in their hands and take time to transport and assess them, will you? I think the people on the scene of this crash were better able to judge what needed to be done than you are!

If you live through being hit by a FED-EX truck that is going to bring a heck of a pay day!

Doesn't matter the "Pay Day" that hard of a hit you may not have injuries that show up right away such as neck and back etc that could shorten your life if not severely impact your quality of life.
I survived a bad neck injury that wasn't found out until symptoms started later after incident.

well i hope the trooper will be ok... but my question is nowhere in the article did it say anything about the driver of the fed-ex truck being arrested or given a ticket.. and how stupid do u have to be to hit a cop...and being a driver of a truck.. how did u not see the troopers lights flashing on the side of the road...and move over to the next lane ..?

My thoughts and prayers with the victims. I hope everybody makes speedy recoveries. BTW, if you can't say anything nice, keep your comments to yourself. People have been injuried, have a heart.

I drove by at about 9am and it was horrific. I didn't know the details until I got home last night, but am glad that the trooper survived. He is listed in fair condition. My prayers go out to him and his family.

On the way back home, yesterday at 3:30pm, they were STILL cleaning up the mess. Traffic was backed up for miles.
