I only knew linsi and rick for only a few short months at school before this tragic accident happened! I wish she would of came to me for help I could tell rick was becoming a little bitter about the relationship but I think linsi was so scared to even say anything. I think about her all the time and wish there was something i could of done. She was such an awesome person and i miss her to death! I hope rick stays in jail for more than 15 years! obvioulsy he is extremely guily when his dad gets him 5 lawyers to try to defend his case! it was clearly muder and i think planned he told me about how his gun mistakenly went off in his room when his friend was there form the military im sorry but I just don't think it happens like that! R.I.P linsi we all miss you sooo mcuh! <3

obviously not far doesn't know anything about linsi and rick and what happened that week her father did not give her the gun someone else did to try to keep her safe but rick had his own but took hers that day i can't even believe you are going to sit here and try to defend this man that murdered this beautiful young women because she didn't want to be with him anymore! how ignorant can you really be. also things couldn't be in the trial about rick telling her dad on the phone that HE RICK shot and killed linsi that night! then when the police found him he then confessed to them. It was no accident seeing how they proved the gun was heavely pressed against her face when the gun went off. you have no idea what you are talking about!

So you did go get help and all those agencies down in Lima, OH failed you?
Second, I know about Linsi's mother's addiction due to my grandfather worked with Mr. Altaffer and they were great friends at the Post Office. My mother was her sponsor during her conformation classes at church and she was the one who told me about Linsi's mother's "problem". If the lady has received help and beat the addiction kudos to her and keep up the work. Far as I know she had not stopped.
If you were Linsi's father, why did you give your daughter a firearm?
I am guessing you have done everything you could and that must of been the last resort deal? Again sad situation, sorry for your loss. I just think there is more to the situation than what folks have been told thru the newspaper and word of mouth. It is not just one-sided which seems to me is what you only want done. All I am asking is think outside of the box a little. This is a forum.

Nicole Ohio-

Open mouth real wide and insert both of your feet!!
You have not read the post/thread completely I do not defend the young man, I just found it very sad that two lives are completely destroyed. One is no longer with us and the other is having to live with that incident along with their families. You were not there when the gun went off, most of those who posted where not in the apartment when it happened. Unless you were next door and did not call 911 and instead called Linsi's father. Which if you were I am sure that was a very scary time for you. Most of the folks I do believe do not know the young man at all, and do not know the company he kept that posted on this forum. When this young man's family try to talk, they were chased off. Think!!! all this anger is not going to rectify what happened. Lima has always been known as a rough town for years and has certain establishments within it. Montpelier is no saint town either it has its own demons as well.

Not Far,
if you were in the courtroom and saw the photos of what happened you would know your an idiot. also, linsi's mother has nothing to do with what happened to her so why even say anything about her? Rick MURDERED her, in cold blood, and left her there. her mother or father had nothing to do with it! why try to destroy what is left of her with things you supposedly "know" and have "heard" you know nothing and what you have heard is false.

you should be focusing on the amazing person linsi was, nothing less and you really should not be focusing on rumors and obsured ones at that.

get the facts before you make ignorant comments.

You do not have to be in a courtroom to know level of damage done to this young woman far as the gunshot to her head. On the other hand, reading this forum, Rick's family is not even allowed to comment or say maybe what they thought of Linsi. Unforunately, these two were not mature enough to handle firearms, point in case the gun going off and the young lady lost her life. I am begining to believe her friends and her family are ones who have some mental issues to say the least. The areas that I have been in if a person was carrying a firearm and not a hunting gun, it made you wonder what they were doing or had been doing to need such an item. There are folks who do "odd jobs" for money due to not comming from well means(money)or sometimes they come very good middle class families and like the adventure. Far as mother + drugs are concered, if you know the region and understood the conditions of such things it would make one wonder if this was a connection to that to keep the mother in line so to speak. I will give you an example, a former place where I worked there were these 2 ladies practially best friends. They went places together , their kids played together, etc...,. But there is one condition Lady 1 was known at times to sell drugs at work and outside work, her best friend Lady 2, is a younger sister to a police officer in North C.,. Lady 1 had made known to several of my co-workers while on break and if she could get Lady 2 alone out in a wheat field she would take a gun and end the young lady's life due to she was a family member to a cop. When I heard this I checked with several sources to make sure what I was understanding to be true. The person who totally confirmed this I will call is K. So that idea may not be far fetched as you would like to think it is remember the saying "keep friends close but keep your enemies closer"? I sorry to hear this young woman lose her life, but what I have learned, that people can surprise you when you least expect it. Please do not hate the family of this young man, have compassion, it has been almost 5 years since this has happened also do not hate Not Far, or think that the person is out there or an idiot, for they might know or have been in the same shoes Linsi was in and made it out of situation only to be able to speak of experience first hand.

Wow, you need to respect this family and keep your strange conspiracy theories to yourself!!! What the women you worked with were contemplating is so totally IRRELEVANT here!!!! You have a CONFESSION from a young man who has a pattern of obsessive behavior, her mothers alleged drug use weighs no bearing on this tragedy. YOur sick!

i was his neighbor for 10 years and he was a nice person. His parents adopted him and they are the nicest people i have ever met. When my mom had breast cancer his mom barb was a 2nd mother to me. We tossed baseball all the time and when i was younger he gave me his stuff he didn't want anymore like stuffed animals. I know tht all the people making fake rumors about him are fake. He was not like that and it wasn't his parents and that i know for sure.

it says im from middletown what springboro stupid computer. also please you don't understand anything about rick out of this forum i easily know him the best and what is say is true. he was not a mean bitter terrible person. I talked to him at leat every other day till he was 18. his dad and mother are again the nicest people you could ever meet. His mother is in my contact info for school. is on my emergency list on my phone and is always a good person. I feel bad for her that bad things happen to good people and that this happened. Think that if i didn't say a word to him maybe one day this may have never happened.
