As there is no direct evidence, the DNA test should be performed so a definitive answer to this woman's guilt or innocence can be determined

I had just moved to the country 2 weeks before this happened. Imagine, 4 months later when spring arrived they found this poor woman and baby in the woods less than a mile from my house.
I still believe this woman did it but who knows. The DNA might hold the truth.
It was and is a sad story.

A while back, I heard from a mutual acquaintance that Andy married a woman named Teresa Benckini and moved to Colorado shortly after Rorrer was put away. Living in CO was a "dream" he and Joann had. I think he has since moved back to the area and is single again. Joann was a sweet, kind person. She did not deserve this terrible fate. Pat Rorrer killed her and needs to realize that nothing will exhonorate her. DNA was already done on her hair and the murder had her name written all over it. Stop wasting taxpayers money.

She's so guilty. Don't post anybody's name, god forbid she get out and find the new woman's name, and get her too.

I don't understand why they will not test the hair that was found in the victim's hand? I would think that is a vital piece of evidence. I wasn't present in the courtroom, and didn't follow the story when it occurred, so I cannot determine whether she is guilty or not just by Mcall's reporting alone. But, I do think that additional DNA testing would put this case to rest once and for all. If she is guilty, she would have to admit her guilt and the victims can finally rest in piece.

There may be new developments in DNA testing, but remember the jury only had 1998 test results to use for the decision.

I agree - the evidence was mostly circumstantial. New DNA tests should be performed to either confirm her guilt or identify the real killer. I've seen too many of these shows where someone looked guilty as heck and was convicted, only to be released when the DNA didn't match. Let's get it right.

It was clear then that this crazed woman was guilty. I hope this woman spends the rest of her life in jail..She took the life of a woman and child she deserves to rot!!!!

I don't know... If she was guilty why would she be willing to re-open the case for another DNA test, if she knows she would be found guilty anyway? You never know, maybe we will all be surprised by the results...

She should suffer the same fate! But then again...our system is so lax...I'm sure she'll get off!

three days before Joann vanished. Joann answered the phone, telling Rorrer, "we'd had just had a baby and were happily married," and asking her not to call again.

I am not sure of what to think- reading all of the clips from this case....I mean the jury couldn't exactly pin her to this, they didn't like her alibi, I thought they had to prove beyond reasonable doubt to convict... maybe she didn't do it, maybe the hubby did- it wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened. Lots of possibilites. I would love to see what the DNA results would be and think that it should be done asap! I don't want to come across like a B***h but hopefully they did put the right person behind bars, but why would she be pushing for the case to be reopened, and want all of this to be stirred back up? Maybe she would be proven innocent!

Michelle do you really know her that well to make that comment? I hope you never sit on a jury.

You are probably right! But I say let her do her DNA thing and when she is found guilty AGAIN, anyone who had second thoughts about the first conviction can rest assured.

I don't think I would go so far as saying she should rot in jail. DNA testing has come a long way...Just maybe she was telling the truth and why should she sit in jail for life if it could be proven she is innocent? Alot of assumptions can be cleared up by having another DNA test. And yeah why would she go after it again if she thought she would be proved guilty again?
