What do you people think about golden years,Is this a good nursing or not.Was thinking about putting my mother there but not sure how this place takes care of the patients.I dont wont to put her there if they are not going to take good care of her.

t's the best around as far as I'm concerned. The waiting list is very long. hard to get anyone in.No nursing home is great. They all are death rowe and usually smell like it. Golden years is clean. I can tell you this they make room quicker for people with money than medicaid dependent patients.Keep a good eye on your Mother whereever you get her in. If they know the family might be coming at any moment they get better care. My daughter was a nurse there.

Come on...it's as good a nursing home as any. Many complaint about everything, but thats nothing unusual on topix. It's like any business it has great employees and on the flip it also has it's share of slackers, just like anywhere else. It is very clean...it does have it's own smell, but so does any other nursing home.
Alot of good hard working people work there, that care about the residents and that means alot.Nursing home work is not an easy job as some may think. I know because I worked there years ago.

Very clean and the patients are kept very clean. Alot of the employees show alot of compassion for the patients and try to make things very comfortable for them.

worked there 3 weeks....was treated like crap by the other employees. my first paycheck was shorted by almost $90...had to fight tooth and nail to get my hard earned money.

the care given is good, however certain employees that have been there are given "special treatment"....

I have been there several times that is why I said what I did, sometimes the truth hurts. There is a lot better nursing homes around,I just suggested that this man find another one to put his mother in.You are more than likely an employee or relative to someone working there and on here trying to defend there incompetence.

Any nursing home is bad. It's a place where you place a loved one to die!

i swear u ppl r awful. grow up a lil bit then get back on here. all they ask is if it was an ok place. they didnt wanna start an argument, im sure. but u could also do like me because honestly i HATE the thought of puttin my family in a nursing home. i work 40 hours a week and take care of my dad. u may ask how does she do it. the answer is simple. i ask my family for help. when im not here someone else is. noone knows how much it means to the family member that is sick or jus old. i hope u make the right decision for ur mom. and i hope everything works out good.

Well, that's great that you have enough family members that can help u out. Most people don't .They have to work for a living and there is no one at home to keep mom and dad. These people need to know about the nursing homes.

Yeah and if you go on there and search around you can see that the other nursing homes in the local area don't rate very high either...

Golden Years is a five star rated nursing home. The highest ranking a nursing home can receive. There is only one other 5 star nursing home in all of KY. Last years state inspection they only had three minor deficiencies which is almost unheard of.One of those was because their was no condiments on the residents food trays. Yes there are staff there that don't care about doing their jobs right but you'll find those kind of workers at any job. They usually don't last long there, for the most part all the staff are hard working people who love the people they take care of. You should contact some of the families of past residents if you want to truly now how your loved one will be cared for if they live there.
