End of story...go ask your local kill shelter how many pits are put down there (if they will tell you) research pit rescues on the web and read thier stories..inform yourself to the truth.dont believe the lie that they find homes.

Well i dont know where you are from but around here people love pitbulls and will adopt them out if they are full blooded halfbreeds you can not get rid of no one wants a mutt. i am trying to open up a pitbull rescue center here in monticello. i have room for them. if u need a place to take the pits bring them here. and stop killing them.

Im on the gulf coast, many miles from you, however if you are serious and do a google or yahoo search for pitbull rescue, Im positive you will find many leads to ones already in exsistence. All rescues are in DIRE need of foster homes, like shelters they can only take so many before they are full too.
Volunteer to be a foster home, see what real world many of these pits and all other breeds face and I can guarentte you will be as against breeding them as I am. Its hard to see any animal die just because someone bred them to make 250.00 and the sale either didnt take place or the home didnt work out. It happens, daily..
If you get in with a reputable rescue, they will pay for vet bills and transport needy pits to you. All will be spayed or nuetered, no breeding. Some of them are nationwide rescues. Extend your information beyond your home area and see what really happens.

It is so sad that even With the millions of people trying to help the pitbulls so many are still dieing because theres not room and so many irrisponsible pitbull owners are fighting them.This is only for the people who fight and neglect pitbulls.

What you do not seem to see is because of your actions tward the pitbulls the people who realy do care and realy do take care of there dogs are suffering and yet all you can say is how dumb BSL is? You irrisponsible pet owners are responsible for the of so many good dogs AND the fact that people are loosing a part of there family.Do you know how hard it is to take your best friend to the pound or shelter hoping he gets a good home somewhere where ignorance and stupidity dont exsist but know it wont happen?Do you know how hard it is to look your beloved pet in the eyes one last time and say "I'm Sorry, You did nothing wromg but because of the absentmindedness of so many others mistakes, I cant keep you and you will probably die soon."
No you dont, for the simple fact...YOU DONT CARE.to you, its just a dog, just a profit.So when BSL steps in and takes action against it, you wont be the ones suffering because your cold heartd and dont care but we will suffer.Think about it everyone, What good is BSL REALY going to do it wontaffect the guilty..will it? NO. Just the innocent whofollow the law, have the pet spayed and netured and make sure that they are kept up away from danger or kept away from anywhere the could be a threat to society.
Even responsible owners of mean pitbulld will suffer.

P.S.- Who's next? BSL bans PITBULLS now, But who will they ban when the pits and sheperds and anyother bad-tempered dog is gone? Fact is the is hundreds of individuaual dogs from EVERY breed that are viciouse and have bad homes.Who's next?

I think the new law is a good one. Pitbulls were created as a breed to fight. So when hurt or kill people or children it is really the fault of the original people that breed those animals to exhibit extreme agressive behavior. Why anyone would want one around their children is beyond me.

I am sure there will be comebacks that they keep their pitbull around their children and it is a good and wonderful pet. The problem though is that this breed of dog was engineered through careful breeding to be very agressive. As far as German Shepards which were originally breed for herding sheep in Germany. Hence the name German Shepard.

I believe being a dog owner myself that dogs can be taught to be agressive and the owner is responsible as well. Sorry to hear about the other dog breeds being flagged as being dangerous. That will probably kill the bill. They probably should have just included the Pitbull for now and then added to the list later on.
