Emergency officials were on the scene of a serious crash in Wayne County Thursday morning.

The accident happened at about 10 a.m. on Main Street in Monticello. LEX 18 has been told an assistant Wayne County attorney, Roderick Tejeda, was involved in the crash. LEX 18 has been told that Tejeda was taken to the hospital for blood tests, but slipped away a short time later. A search was conducted, and LEX 18 has been told Tejeda has been found and is being returned to the hospital.

State Police say one person was flown to the hospital after one of the cars pulled out into the road and was t-boned by the other.

Here come all of this towns best vultures circling the newest prey. All of you are so perfect and because of never being in a bad situation before, of course you have room to judge. You're all waiting to crucify someone even before the facts come out. Shame on you scavengers. And oddly enough it's the same old names and same old users on here again. We saw your names on the Lex 18 comments and we all know who you are by now anyway. No one is surprised by that fact any more. Your time would be better spent by getting on your knees for one minute and asking God to take care of whoever was involved in this accident! You bring shame on this town!

<quoted text>Were you on the scene of the accident?? Why don't you give all involved a moment of silence and shut up???!!!!! If it were one of your family in the accident i'm sure you wouldn't want other people on here airing out their laundry, would you????
Why so defensive? Everyone can listen to Lex18 news for their own conclusion.I'm VERY sad over this.

This is copied from LEX news. This is headline news and this is the town forum. Why is it you bleeding hearts always have to get your panties in a wad soon as news is mentioned on here. I hate it when people get hurt or killed like this. I say no ill thing. Geesh, you all are talking about it! If someone was responsible the law will figure it out. Very sorry for he families.

One woman in dead and another person remains hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash in Wayne County Thursday morning.

The collision happened at about 10 a.m. at the intersection of north Main and Young streets. Police say the driver of one vehicle pulled out of Young Street into the path of another vehicle, and was t-boned.

Roderick Tejada was the man driving down Main Street, and was taken to the Wayne County hospital to get checked out and to have blood taken. While hospitalized, Tejada slipped out of sight. A search for Tejada ended when he was found a few blocks from the hospital on a state road, and was taken without resistance back to the hospital. Once back, hospital doctors began tests to check for head injuries.

Meanwhile, the other driver, identitfied as Jerus Neal, 54, of Monticello, died at the hospital, according to KSP.

State Police and Monticello Police continue to investigate the crash and Tejada's actions after going to the hospital. KSP says that right now they don't expect any charges against Tejada.

Tejada is currently an assistant county prosecutor, an a former assistant Commonwealth's prosecutor, as well as a long-time and well-respected private attorney

I can't believe that people get on here and defend the attorney. If I had my way he would be charged with manslaughter. After all if a nobody hit her going at the speed that is exactly what Monticello Police would have charged that person. He still has his life but she doesn't. Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Helen Neal.

before you go yelling Monticello police please be advised this is being handled by Kentucky State Police for just this reason. They will also have to wait for all if the test to come back and for the reconstruction of the accident before they will be able to charge or not charge!
