I THINK THE HOPE CENTER IS WRONG.....
IT DONT SEEN VERY CHRISTAIN TO ME.
PEOPLE THAT ARE IN NEED FOR FUNTURE HAVE TO BUY IT, UNLESS ITS JUNK, THERE NOT FAIR AT ALL.
I THINK IT SHOULD BE FREE TO FOLKS THAT NEED IT.
ITS FREE TO THE HOPE CENTER.
AND THE JUNK SHOULD BE IN THE DUMP. SOME OF BEDS STINK SO BAD AND THE SOFA STINK TO. THE JUST NASTY. BUT GOOD CLEAN STUFF THEY WONT GIVE AWAY.

I think the original poster meant that the actual Hope Center gets the stuff donated to them for free.

I think you took offense to quick. I take it that they are saying the stuff is given to the Hope Center for free. No where does it mention the employees get things for free.

I knew the ones at the hope center at the other location. I observed people from Foster Mountain get loads of furniture and take it away and sell it themselves(in there truck). Also, if there was any half way decent clothes and such, the employees got that stuff. That is why they liked working for free. As far as having to pay for it, I think everyone should have to pay for it, whether it is furniture or something else. It isn't that high anyway.

I have bought thing's there, and I have donated thing's there;
It's just like any other place, you just have to pick and choose.

If a worker get's something for free, it's none of my business.
If they work for free why would I hold a grudge if they get something for free?

I wont shop there ever again after something that I observed while shopping one day for someone who had their home burnt. What I observed was an employee taking something that I had just donated to the store STRAIGHT out of the box it was in to their vehicle. I questioned the employee and she swore she didn't do it. I walked over to the car and pointed it out in her backseat and said I had just donated it..she flat out LIED...

Needless to say, my donations now go to a place just east of Somerset called God's Helping Hands where families are allowed to go once a month to get a large garbage bag of NICE clothes for free. They also have household stuff as well, just in case anyone needs those items.

the hope center is a joke,I took some good clean clothes out there once,exerise bike 6 changer CD player, some dishes.THE workers looked thru my truck took out what they wanted ,then told me they did'nt have room 4 the rest.I had to pay 10 bucks at the dump site to get rid of the rest I had no room to bring it home.I will burn my things before I take anything else out there.....

God's Helping Hands is only about 3-4 miles out on East 80. You will pass the BP, then the next road on the left called 1317. After you turn on that road, you make almost an immediate right, then immediate left and drive about 2 miles. There are signs. The place is on the left. The people are really nice. They are closed on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The number is listed under God's Helping Hands in the Somerset book or you could look it up online!
