What's so wrong about spending more on Medicare? It's been slashed to the bone already. That premium comes out of S.S. checks. It's not free. These poor elderly people are left with a 20% co-pay even after their deductable is met. Then their there is about a thousand bucks everytime they go into the hospital if 60 days have passed. It's only enough to get you in the hospital. By the time these people buy a supplement and pay for most meds.(part D doesn't take long to use up till you're in the donut hole) they have little left to live on. Just one big bill wipes them out. A $100k hospital bill costs them almost $22k left to pay out of pocket. They don't have it! U.S. Dr's say they will refuse the amount social ins. will pay. If the big ins. companies go down because of it, what then? It's a mess at best. Now you tell me how either plan can fix this. I dare you!
I am sorry I can't feel sorry for the debt. 10 trillion spent in Iraq. The country now wants nothing to do with us and is best friends with Iran. What did we go there for. The mass killings in that country are still going on. Oh lets not forget the Afghan war. What about it. Do you think that country will still be on its feet once we leave and how many trillions have we thrown down that hole. Stop the wars and spend the money for people at home for jobs and social security and medicare.

The republican plan [Paul Ryans baby] is to do away with the social security system and the medicare system as we know it. Anyone 55 or younger will be expected to live their senior years on what they alone have paid into the social security system. As soon as you draw that out, then you are up the creek without a paddle. They also plan on sending you a voucher so you can purchase ins. which most have to pay 2000.00 or 3000.00 before they will start paying anything on bills, then most of them will pay 80% and you are responsible for the other 20%. They are planning on screwing over the poor and middle class royally.

But have any of you caught on to the fact that nothing has been done to their retirement plan? If you will read about it, some of them and their spouse draw 166.000.00 a month of taxpayer money. They and their spouse also have the cadallic plan of insurance paid for out of taxpayer money and are eligible for retirement at age 55.

And here is the real kicker, they are eligible for government retirement benefits if they work just 6 years for the government. Do anybody besides me see something wrong with this picture? Whose retirement plans should we be addressing? Not ours. How about giving them a 30% pay cut too. It's not the american people that are bankrupting us, it's the american government.

How do we go about getting their attention.

The work yourself till death plan?

I'm glad I invested my monies in over seas tax havens. I get to invest in someone else's economy and I don't have to pay your silly taxes.

Plus the companies I own can apply for further government contract work and still skim off enough to invest more income over seas.

Thank you

Thank you for trying to wake some people up, but I fear all your efforts are futile.
Most of the people here live on social programs of some sort & the REPUBLICANS want to do away with all social programs and yet the very people who benefit from government help vote for the very people who want to do away with the very programs our people use!!!!

I'm not saying that I like people taking advantage or draining the system. Work needs to be done to prevent individuals from living off the hard work of others. But, I pray a neighbor or family member of yours is not a single mother with 5 kids and three different fathers, has a house fire or catastrophy near you. According to what you wrote, you help no one but yourself. In reality most good natured people help each other. In times of hardship, the American people have proved over and over again that we help each other. If the greediness of some would stop outweighing the tender loving heart of others, this America and the world would be a different place. I hope that you don't show up at church on Sunday morning or evening with an attitude like that. But you probably do. That would make you a hypocrite.
Go ahead a believe the republican spew, its such a horrible economy, Obama is the anti-crist, liberals will take your guns, etc, etc.(Scary tactics)
Romney's economy is doing just fine in this horrible economy and has been making major money. He grossed 20 million in 2010. How much did you make? Yeh, this man is gonna take care of you $19,000 earners and you $40,000 earners and you $70,000 earners. Yeh....
He is going to take care of his special interests and big banks and the tax code to benefit more like him.

People with Medicare are having money taken out of their social security check to pay a premium, plus they have co-pays and deductibles. Plus have paid in Medicare tax on wages they have earned at a job.
So let's say I am Rich and make a million dollars a year. That means I pay in around 150,000 dollars a year in FICA- and you wanna tell me I don't deserve Medicare????
STOP THE MEDICAID AND THE WELFARE. Tough titty if your 22 and have 5 kids with 3 different men and aren't with any of them. That sounds like something you should have thought of before you got knocked up......like, how am I going to pay to feed, cloth, shelter and provide health insurance for a child.[/QUOTE]

Ayn Rand & Paul Ryan
What made her books controversial is not violence or sex, though both "Fountainhead" and "Atlas" have their share of bodice-ripping, but an extremist vision of America that celebrated greed and selfishness, rejected altruism as "evil" and opposed the fundamental tenets of Judeo-Christian morality.(She was also a militant atheist who favored abortion.)
In that speech, Ryan said, "I grew up reading Ayn Rand and it taught me quite a bit about who I am and what my value systems are and what my beliefs are. It's inspired me so much that it's required reading in my office for all my interns and my staff."

He went on to say that "the reason I got involved in public service, by and large, if I had to credit one thinker, one person, it would be Ayn Rand. And the fight we are in here, make no mistake about it, is a fight of individualism versus collectivism."

You're beating a dead horse if you think there is a solution to all this mess. It's going to be root hog or die in this world very soon. When all the poor factory workers and farmers go under (and you know we're about there) two things will happen. The welfare people will cease to eat because no one is paying taxes and the rich people will have to eat their money because there will be nothing in the stores for their fancy cooks to buy. Sounds like a joke, right?.. Just wait. PESTILENCE, DISEASE and WORLD WIDE FAMINE IS WHAT WE'RE FACING. Shall I repeat it or would you like to read it in the Bible for yourself? Prophecy is being fulfilled at an excellerated speed in these last days. It's already on our doorsteps. You say wake up and vote this way or that. I say learn to read the signs of the time. Ten more American soldiers killed just today in a war that Obama put an end to. Now that's a joke people..Sell all your political crap to their families!

That is what is wrong with this country now...you will vote for NoBama so you can continue to live off of Medicaid and Food Stamps instead of looking for work. Granted, he has ruined our job market, but you can go flip burgers and get off of the tax payers payroll!!! If you watch any news at all and are even some what informed, you will know that NoBama has provided more people with medicaid and food stamps than any other president in the history of this country! Leaches!!!!!

I think you have over stated the situation and Romney will do fine as our next president. at least he has experience as a businessman and I firmly believe he will do a fine job as president. R and R will not take away medicare and social security so dont anyone believe it any different.

So I guess we support all 5 kids until they are 18, so mom and baby daddy's don't have to work just in case their free housing burns?
There is a difference in helping those in need temporarily til they can get on their feet and supporting those who choose not to work.

I'm retired medicare taxes were taken out of my pay check for 50 years. With the promise it would be there when I retired. I pay $98 a month premium to use it now. It's not and never will be a free ride. If your having trouble seeing on your check stub where they deduct it look at FICA. That's Medicare. And I need to say this when the government quits buying hammers for $500 and toilet seats for $450 we will get out of this situation were in a lot faster. Also I think the guy down the street who ways 300 lbs could probably stand to lose a few dollars off he's food stamp benefits. That being said vote both these blood sucking party's out of power and you might see some real change if not your gonna get the same ole same ole.

Doctors from overseas

London, KY

#43 Aug 22, 2012
The reason we have so many doctors from overseas is the government pays for their education providing they sign a contract saying they will work in that country for so many years. After the contract is up they are free to come to the United States where they get rich. Americans can't compete with that kind of system. And with Romney and Ryan trying to do away with the medicare and medicaid system many elderly people will not go to the doctor because they will face a co-pay that they will not be able to afford. These two men are for the rich and they intend to make life better for the rich and worse for the poor and middle class. If you think it was rough the last four yrs. just let Romney and Ryan run the country four the next four.

It was stated in the paper that Mississippi and Kentucky had the largest percentage of obesity. When they cut out all of this unnecessary crap maybe they will be able to loose down to 200 lbs for women and 300 lbs for men instead of the way it is now 250 for women and 350 for men. Outrageous. No woman should even weigh anywhere around 200 lbs. I don't care if she is 6ft tall that is ridiculously over weight.
