This is true about the road near static, I didn't believe it either. My friend took me down there and showed me, how the car will pull itself on a flat drive. Some people says gravity, I don't know. There is a gate there now but wasn't then.

I've personally been on it myself b4. Its a little pull-off area towards Duvall Valley in Clinton County, at the bottom of that hill. It'll definitely get ur adrenaline running! My heart beat really fast and it kinda scared me, but it was cool at the same time! Try going by West Metcaffe House. Ur really not allowed on the property itself but u can go by it. Its supposedly haunted 2.

I am the Lead Investigator of the Lake Cumberland Ghost Hunters, we have been to most of these places, the only one I can say "IS" haunted would be Zula bridge. We have some pretty good evidence from this place. If you would like to see it, contact me on myspace

I've done this alot and if you let you car stay in neutral and there is no traffic in front of you, your car will coast all the way to the intersection that meets up at the bottom of the Gap Creek Church. Good fun. There used to be a Roberts family that lived at the end of that road.
I Have rode in a car that when all the way to the stop sign, but you can't hit the brakes and some of the cures get pretty hairy.lol

I did a paper in college on this drive way. There are two stories to why this happens with the cars. One being: A young couple was driving by and they got into a argument and she got out, he trying to stop her got out as well, but knocked the car out of gear and the car ran over her, killing her. She is pulling the cars out of the drive way to prevent this from happening again. Now the other stories is: It is a alusion. The bottom of the hill is a higher sea level than the top of the hill, it is one of the wonders of the world. The car is going down hill due to the sea level and appears to be going up hill. Now the first story suppost to have happened in the early 1900's, the second was research in the 50's I believe. The researcher was trying to prove there was a under ground whrill pool that caused this but it did not pan out. As far as, for the hand prints and things I have not idea, but the story is cool.

I heard many of stories like this one time I was in Eastern state I heard a women crying and I saw a man walking but he look like a doctor but I never told anyone until this day because I didn't want to stay longer in the mental hospital but they are rumors about in the 1900s or so was found to be a old hospital sitting there before they torn down the old one and build the new but it is still know to be haunted but you can't go and visit because they still have it useable

Done it several Times, Funny as anything. used to be the best P-ss stop from Static you could find. Come over Poplar Mountain at the bottom on the wayne county side a road goes back to the Right had side. There is a house way back the road about a couple 1000 feet. At anyrate, you go through the gat to where the litle drain runs accross the road. Back up to this drain. Leave your car in neutral, Especially a standard shift. It will start rolling off. I seen a few people pee them selves trying to catch their car. Sad thing is you better catch the vehicle quick or you won't.
