Please try to help the homeless man at Wal-Mart. He is white headed with a white beard, he sleeps outside and everything, this brakes my heart. If you see him and it is lunch time, give him something to eat. God Bless All.
I will

We need a place here in Monticello to help people that is having a hard time. Somewhere they can get something warm to eat and a dry place to lay thier head down and feel safe doing it. The county and city needs to really work on this.

Yeah it is so sad, surely someone has a place this man can stay. He is out in the rain and the cold.

Poor guy, I have never saw him, is he all ways at wal mart? Is he a local man? Yes, we do need a homeless shelter, because if things don't change their will be several people out on the streets.

I have seen the man that you are talking about. He was in the bread section the other day. I think he may have some problems with his eye sight. This is so sad. I saw him a few weeks ago laying on the bench in front of the wal-mart but I thought someone had picked him up. What is our local Hope Center for? Maybe they could help people like that instead of some people I know who only take avantage of their benifits. Maybe if someone could take him there or to the Sisters at the ST. Peters Church. They are very good at helping too. I pray that someone will help him find a home.

This guy is really homeless, i talked to some of the people that work at wal-mart today. I don't know if he is local, I just know he needs help. A lady that works at wal-mart said the other night when it got so cold that he went to the hospital and stayed all night in the waiting room.
This morning i offered him food, but he had done eat. So i went in wal-mart and got him some things, when i went outside to give it to him he almost cried and so did i. I also gave him a few dollars and he did not want to take it, he said as hard as things are you may need it. I told him no i wanted him to have it. I just hope and pray someone will find him a place to stay and soon, it is suppose to snow.

I don't know much about him, i do know that alot of people that work there buy him coffey and food. He uses one of Wal-marts buggys to push his stuff around. This man is older and i'd say things just got to hard on him. I hope someone will find him help, this is a sad situtaion and this is the season of giving Right.

I was just thinking...since Rankins just closed...why doesn't the city revamp the building a bit, put a couple bathrooms, a kitchen, and a few cots in and make a shelter? Just an idea....what are your all's thoughts about this? Or the newer building at the old AJ LLOYD middle school? Its already got a kitchen and bathrooms((just not showers but I'm sure that wouldn't be a big deal to fix!!)) Add a few cots..and suprise! A shelter!

Is this the man that sleeps outside sometimes? I saw him trying to wrap up in a tarp and crawl up under a tractor trailer (just the trailer part) to keep the wind off himself. Is that him? It broke my heart. If this is the same man you are speaking of, why won't he stay in his home? Does he have mental problems?

That is a great idea, how would a person go about trying to get something like this started?

Yes if it is George his mother died and he is afraid. I am not sure of what but he will not sleep in the house when he is there he sleeps in an old car. He lives on Old Bethel RD in Alpha. Not sure if this is the man you are referring to, but he needs help also before he freezes to death. He is an elderly man with a long beard. He hair is not completely white it has some gray in it. I hope some finds him the help he needs. It would be great to have a homeless shelter here. There may not be many homeless people here now but times are getting hard and people need to someplace to go if they become homeless esp. if they have small children.
