Monticello Peddler Mall

London, KY

#1 Jul 28, 2012
I will be opening a Peddler's Mall in the near future here in Monticello. Booths will become available soon as the layout work is completed. Sign ups will take place in August. This will be great for small business owners, yard sale vendors, or anyone wanting to make money and have their own store. Cheapest commercial rent in town. If you or anyone you know who might want to rent a space, have them to send an email with the following info:

Faye, who are you to scare someone from putting in a business? Don't be so negative.....we need people to invest in our town. Be supportive...and don't always think the worst.

Do you think a JUNK STORE will make it in Monticello? LOL
Have you been in a peddlers mail? Some junk yes, but there are people who sell good stuff. Goodwill does great and all they have is junk, Calvin kennits does great and he is a junk store. Look how well flea markets do. They have some junk but the really good vendors do quite well. So don't be so quick to judge if you haven't been in this persons store or soon to be store I guess.

Why is the owner in Somerset trying to sell then????? Calvin makes it because he sells to all these crazy pretend "Antique dealers". Peddlers malls in Louisville are typically cheap flea markets now. And yes I have been in a lot of Peddlers Malls. People in Wayne Co. cannot pay their bills, so I don't see them wasting money n junk... Besides the rent would be outragerous....
Faye,

Why are you soooo upset with someone trying to do something? Do you own a store and afraid you might lose some business? I say why not give it a shot....you are commenting as if you know the rent is high, let's just never try to open anything cause of all the negatives. I think there is more to this story, you don't want someone to try and open something up for a reason. You have been the only person on here to say anything negative about a possible peddlers mall opening. The good thing is that it would give people a chance to make some money, plus I like flea markets and you probably do to. I'm just not sure what you're motive is for trashing someone who has a dream.

God bless anyone who tries to do something in a world who believes in not doing anything. Got to have a dream before it becomes a reality lol. I'm just messing with you Faye. I hope the best for you also.

My gosh lady what is it to you? I love peddler's malls. Depends on who you allow to set up in your store. Country at Heart etc. is no different. They've been here for years. They just happen to sell country items. If you allow dirty trash to come in then you will go bust in a hurry. People are looking for good stuff at a reasonable price. I love browsing the 1950s/60s retro items. Give it a chance. The worst problem with stores that open here is they don't refresh their stock. If items haven't sold in a year they're not going to people! I won't shop at stores that have the same old stuff every time I go in. 39cents store was a good example. Never anything new from day one.

I ask one of the women that works at Peddlers Mall in Somerset if this was the same chain, since the original post did say "Peddlers Mall". Evidently, it is not the same company. Don't know how they can call it by the same name. I would want to know that the person that is opening this up has enough money to keep the doors open after every one has their booths set up and paid their rent to him.

Peddler's Mall is not a chain. It is a peddler's mall, a kind of store, not a name.(a proper noun). There are gobs of them in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Little Nashville, In. etc. They are all over the place. The owner charges rent for space and some even skim a % of the sales.

Well, I hate to break this to you, but "Peddler's Mall" is a NAME of a company that is owned by one man. He ownes multiple stores and may very well have them in Tenn., I don't know. But I do know that it is a corporation. That's just like saying you could open a grocery store and call it "Kroger"

Yes, you nailed it on the head! I am so afraid......I don't even understand what you are talking about. I presented facts. Not my uneducated, immature opinion. If you don't have something useful to add then shut up.
