The power bill is several hundred dollars for a fact each month the money for sign ups don't cover the power bill that's why they rent the gym out to help the church make up the difference

Do you think the fee you pay really goes to someone's pocket? How much do you think it costs to heat and power that gym?? Do you think AEP just says oh we will let you have free power for the kids.... Umm no its several hundred dollars a month! The city has nothing to do with that and you should quit bitching, crying, and starting shit and actually start thinking these men and women involved with this league.... I guess you are wondering why you should think them.... Maybe because they take away from their families every weekend and every evening dealing with things for that league and giving up their free time so YOUR child has a place to play basketball. Next year get involved and give up some of your precious free time and you can account where the money goes!! I bet you get a reality check and wake up call to see how much the league costs for power, the shirts, trophies, and the paid refs... YES paid refs so people like you can't bitch and complain all the time about not having real refs as it was last year!
whatever.. Do things right and don't bring the church into this just to make people think everything's on the up and up. I don't know about the real ref thing but yea you should have had refs that could make the right calls!but far as trophys one year the parents took money up to get my daughters team trophys! So....

How about you step out of the shadows and put your name on here? It's people like you that start this stuff and never have to answer for you false accusations. Better yet how about you getting involved with city hoops and stop making bad calls from the outside looking in. As for asking, you haven't asked anyone so that for one is not true. I challenge you to become part of something that helps kids in our area. We would welcome any assistance from you so then you would see what truly goes into trying to help others with no reward other than the satisfaction of helping other human brings become better athletes but more so better people. The church is a part of this in the fact that without the church and the generosity they show there would be no basketball league. Step up or shut up, your choice.

Also...the insurance policy itself is expensive. Its funny how people always find something to bitch about. This gives the kids something to do. As one of the posters above stated, get involved and maybe you will know what u are talking about. If you have that big of a problem with your kid not playing, I suggest u speak with your child's coach.

$250.00 a Saturday for just the refs. Just in case you can't break that down that's $25.00 per ref per game which there are 5 middle age league and older league games per Saturday and thats at 2 refs per game but you probably already knew that since you are involved with the league. I did the figuring so you didn't have to.

Where are the rules about where the money should go. I wasn't never told that the money had to be paid for anything. Is there something you are reading that says the money goes back to the kids. well it does even if not written. this year is the first year with official officials for all of the games. If your child is not getting the time he/she is suppose to play you should talk with the coach. An unwritten rule was that all children get to play so many minutes per game. I'm not sure if that rule applies for playoffs. If your child is not getting the play time then report it to Terri or John. They definitely will take care of it. Do you know beside the expenses like power etc. the workers also get paid to have a good clean concession and honest people collecting at the door. This is the best year of city hoops for years. they were connected with the city at one time. and called Montgomery city hoops but now City Hoops. The church does not have to allow the use of the gym. if we use vhs there has to be at least one county employee there at all times and it is up to the principle to decide if it can be used. i did like how ukv bb did there league a few years back. they did have a big party for the kids. i have never know any league that buys trophies for every child if there team is not a winner. parents want trophies for kids just because they are on a team. i don't. ukv baseball a few years ago could not even buy championship trophies for the little league baseball or softball teams. that is unheard of. champions no trophy. i never liked getting together and buying my kid a trophy. earn the trophy it means much more. who wants a bunch of plastic that means nothing. I'm proud of John Frisby, Terri Abbott, and staff. By the way there is a belle league that you might be interested in if you are so unhappy with this league.

I am the President of City Hoops. I've ran this league for 13 yrs. Every year each child has got to keep his/her shirt and every child has received a trophy. No one has asked me about anything. So quit your lying. The books are always open for inspection....Shirts $1,600....Trophies $1,000.... All star shirts $800...Payment for gym $1,500...Referees $50 per game.

Your fee does not nearly cover the cost of the basketball league. You need to thank and support your local businesses for their donations.

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW SOMETHING ASK ME...DON'T HIDE BEHIND YOUR COMPUTER.

My Grandpa does not run the basketball league nor the karate school for money. It is to simply keep the kids off the street and give them something to do in the ran down town of Montgomery, WV. If you do not like the way Montgomery City Hoops is ran you can surely find another league for your child. If your child is not even playing in this league then why put your two cents in when you only have a penny. Stop trying to create drama when someone is helping the community and doing a great job of it because it has been kept up with and ran for 13 years! Grow up people!
