WVU is a sh*t hole. Always has been and will always be. Motgomery is a sh*t hole too. They built a sh*t hole in a sh*t hole town.

Thank you, TBT, for all that you have done for the Tech campus in Montgomery. Without you, there would be no baccaluareate programs on the Montgomery campus today. Without you, there's a good likelihood that Bridgemont would have been in Institute, West Virginia, today.

Tech's enrollment today is less than it has been in 50 years. In fact, Tech is the only baccaluareate college in West Virginia that has double-digit enrollment decreases for the last decade--all under the administrative direction of WVU.

Anyone who has any knowledge of that campus well knows where the problems lie.

TBT needs to realize that it is no longer 1970...anywhere. Not at Tech, and surely not in the town of Montgomery. Do you remember when the town was booming? Look at it now. Why don't you try to take it back? How about some economic development.....

The student population is down overall in the state. At the high schools and at most colleges (except WVU and Marshall).

You no longer work at Tech, take up knitting and rocking in your rocking chair and move on. Several of you have early onset dementia anyway and the whole community knows that you're all a bunch of whackos and drunks.

It is, also, no longer 1970 at West Virginia State University. It is no longer 1970 at Glenville College. It is no longer 1970 at Concord College It is no longer 1970 at Bluefield State College. It is no longer 1970 at Beckley Junior College. And the list could continue.

And if the student population is down overall in the state, none of the above colleges (with the exception of Tech) is far from dealing with double-digit decreases (or even close) in enrollment.

The other colleges (by the way, independent of WVU) have held their own--even with some having significant growth. Those college remain in the same locations even though their populations have had decreases.

In fact, Charleston tried to extend its borderlines in recent years in hopes of maintaining their population quotas. Meanwhile, WV State, University of Charleston, and Marshall continue their steady pace of growth.

Beckley College continues its growth--Mountain State University (likewise, in Southern West Virginia like Tech). In fact, most of the aforementioned "college" status has changed to the "university" status?

The affiliations with WVU has brought Tech to its knees (some feel deliberately) by WVU in hopes of WVU "stealing" the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering for its own.

Well, that goal was not achieved but, no doubt, stays on the agenda.

Tech's survival through all of WVU's endeavors to downsize Tech to a community and technical college is a true testiment to Tech's strong academic and athletic heritage (its strength).

Ask anyone "in the know" (former presidents of the institution, former top administrators of the institutions, and former and present staff and faculty) about the conditions of Tech since the impediment--WVU and Tech's WVU appointed leader on the Montgomery campus--took charge.

The record speaks for itself.

Again, thank you, TBT, for being concerned enough to take the right stand and for remaining standing for "what's right" for our student population within.

None of the employees on the Tech campus like TBT. We wish you would all just go away and leave us alone. You are not helping us. You are hurting us.

You've retired so you have your retirement. We're still working for a living. Leave us alone and enjoy your retirement. You're all a bunch of rude bitches and most people hate to see you coming cause they have to listen to you rant and rave.

Barbara, you are wrong in your assumption. Many Tech employees agree with the community, the Tech alumni, legislators, and top academic administrators that the problems at Tech need immediate attention.

The groups (as outlined above) should have not been put in the position of having to fight for the sheer survival of that institution--the institution that provides your employment. Taxpayers pay a hefty fee to Montgomery and Morgantown administrators to do that job. The consistent double-digit decrease in enrollment on that campus for the last decade or so is verification of their (WVU/Tech administrative infrastructure) lack of ability to direct that campus.

It is common knowledge among the community, Tech alumni, past presidents of that institution, legislators, and top academic administrators that Tech is functioning on life support today and that the life support would not even be there today if those groups had not fought for the last five years for the survival of that institution.

To the sheer disbelief of the public (as outlined above) a very small entity on that campus refuses to recognize/acknowledge the questionable future of that college and, thereby, refuses to recognize/acknowledge the fact that their employment could well be in jeopardy.

In fact, a legislator stated recently that the sheer survival of that institution after Bayless' proposal to relocate it to Dow (and the influx therin) is a living testimonial to the strength of character--academic/athletic heritage--of that instituion.

So, for the sake of the future educational needs of our youth and the security of your employment, the five-year journey for the survival of that institution (under the WVU umbrella) continues.

Best of luck, first and formost, to Tech and to you.

"Exactly"...you are so wrong about Tech Employeess....I know that for a fact. No use in having a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent (such as Take Back Tech). We can only hope that since you are all fossils and alcoholics that you die soon.

Barbara (and coworkers[?]), here's hoping that you are posting your comments either before or after office hours. Tech is in need of all (and more) of your undivided attention during work hours. All energies need to be extended in efforts to keep the present students as future students--that's called "employment security."

However, your comments are a true expression of the character and intelligence (or lack thereof) of a few (remember: "few") on the campus who continue to harm the reputation and the future of the institution.

Now wise ole owl, who would be idiotic enough to do that knowing they could lose their job and retirement? Surely not a lone person that works in higher education. If so God help us all! And what if it could be traced to other computers that don't feel the way Barbara feels and they would lose their jobs too! Oh my! What a tangled web we weave! And all over a bunch of old ladies that filed suit and were smart enough to win! Barbara they saved your job. You should just say thank you. In the words of Jack Nicholson. You can't handle the truth!

I wish TBT would put their energy in helping the Town. If you want to "take something back", then try to help revitalize the community! Ever heard of trying to make a positive impact? Help Montgomery instead of trying to drive people away.

Thanks TBT for saving my alma mater.

The Tech employees need to assist in preserving the future of the once banner college in West Virginia instead of standing on the sidelines and complaining.
