First ladies have always been privy to the issues before anyone else and certainly gave their own advice to their husbands---but because women have been an underclass longer than any other type of human being, the fact that they do get experience in their sublimated and quiet roles as First Ladies gets hidden and not talked about. That, I would say, is exactly what experience is and very useful in order to actually be the President---do you not think that Roosevelt didn't seek the advise of Elinore, while they shared meals, their marriage bed and so on? Or John F. and Jackie, or Pat and Richard, or LBJ and Lady Bird or Bill and Hillary? Get real, start thinking for a change instead of buying into what the current "buzz" is your being spoon fed. Women have always been their husbands number one advisors---in most cases.
NATIONAL SECURITY:

What is a security clearance?

Do military wives have the same security clearance as a The Commanding Officer, her husband?
Do Military Wives know about the Base Missions before other Officers in charge?

Do First Ladies have the same security clearance as The Commander In Chief?

What is the real truth?
A First Lady and a Commanding Officer's wife do not have a security clearance or the same level security clearance as her husband.

Is this just talk about a First Ladies Club, officer wives club or National Security?

Many females are in a position to get and give information on NATIONAL SECURITY:
The Speaker of the House
Ms. Rice
There are other ladies with a high security clearance, however, first wives maybe low on the list.
Security Clearance is given on a need to know in some situations. Most of the time wives do not have a need to know because of safety.

What is the real truth about National Security?

AMERICA HAVE SEVERAL OFFICERS IN CHARGE

This is why we have to take care of our Military and our Military Family.

When do we seek excellent judgment over poor experience?

We are probably more in agreement here than not. Politicians do divide us. The media exponentially exploits that division. If we started talking in terms of blue eyed people vs brown eyed people or short people vs tall people, it wouldn't take long until hate was created between those groups. The reason Obama might make a difference is because he doesn't seem to be using division as leverage. Just the opposite. And why would Obama not be a good role model for black youths? One of the great promises of this nation is that anyone can grow up to be president. This is the first time that black children can actually start believing that possibility. It is that kind of inspiration that motivates kids to dream big, to try hard. We all need role models, especially if our own parents have not been good examples.
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Obama say that when he was in the first grade or earlier that he dreamed of being the president? for hope. Please do not think I am attacking Obama's run for the white house. Obama is not doing anything worthy of being a role model. He is a witness to what is happening just like the rest of us. It is the Spirit of the American People that is doing the work here. Americans all over the country are showing the WORLD that bigotry, racism and manipulation by the media can be defeated and that should be the role model for our children. The American People are trying to heal. Why can't we see that it is bigger than any one person. Give credit where credit is due. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream is starting to become a reality. We have had blacks run for president before, but now the American People are starting to not see the color of one's skin. Sure we have work to do, but nomatter what happens in this election, how much the media puts a racial,(gender) spin to it, or how much people give the credit to one man or woman. My children and I will know that it really the AMERICAN PEOPLE that deserves ALL the credit here.

I would just like to say that as a black person,, and I resent the implication that black folks are overwhelmingly voting for Obama because he is black. Why can't it be that he is qualified to do the job well and that he recognizes the desire of many folks of all colors to build a more fair America? Maybe its part of a deep, inbred perception that blacks are stupid, non-thinking creatures. Please overcome that stereotype. Another factor that folks don't consider about Ohio is its strong roots with the KKK(check your local history,,especially the founding members of Akron School Board and how Ohio was " the hub" of KKK activity back in the day). Like it or not, Descendants with that KKK mentality still exist in Ohio.( I know they endorsed Obama,,but it wasn't the Ohio chapter, believe me) Unfortunately,,some of those folks are in positions of power too,,, but thats another story. Its very unfortunate if anyone would NOT vote for a qualified individual just because he's black(or has a funny name, or a woman!) and its just as sad TO vote for someone for these reasons. Hilary is equally qualified and I hope her passion and energies are used somehow for the good of the country in another capacity, but for me,, Obama represents more of what I want in America and thats change from the status quo and holding folks accountable for giving back to their communities and fighting for whats right like he did. He is not focused on just black this or that, but building America to what it should be,, for all of us. FYI/in my opinion-to all the Mccain supporters,,to support him means you are doing well financially and don't mind the rising gas and grocery prices, our dying youth in Iraq staying another 100 years. It also means you are selfish and don't care about the millions of struggling working folks,,just because you are doing well. You have no heart for your fellow man because its all about your individual pockets and don't believe in fair shares. That does not make for a happy, harmonious world, when the majority are struggling. I challenge all bloggers after me to be intelligent and not hateful in their comments.
Challenge us to reply to a person making rscist comments. Just couldn't help yourself, could you? If your looking for comments not racist/hurtful then YOU should have left them out yourself. Intelligent your not.

Yes, you are right---security clearances omit advice from non-secured, if kept to. However, still, there has nary been a wife who did not stand beside her partner and not give her two cents or four cents or nickels worth of advice. That is what a marriage is essentially---a partnership if nothing else. So, again, what great man did not have a great woman by his side---even Jesus consulted his Mother Mary.
Great men, secure in their own masculinity, are not afraid of woman secure in their femininity. Great men have listened to their wives for thousands of years, however our patriarchies have not recognized that out loud very often.

Also, have you ever watched a female animal defend her young against intruders---there is no power greater than that of a female put on the line for her progeny---and she has always motivated the men to do the same on her and their childrens' behalf.

This is the nature of us as humans.

That comment was so stupid that it proves that you are not republican or even a conservative. You hit McCain for "trashing" the conservative wing, so your solution is to vote for Obama, who is the most liberal senator in the US Senate?
Keep voting for false Conservatives if you must. Watch the debt continue to grow and the dollar continue to slide. We are headed for stagflation that will hurt Ohio more than most states. Do you really think the budget or the debt will balloon more than under the GOP?

McCain's support for amnesty for 12-20 million illegals will hurt Ohio even more. He has a temper that is usually directed at Conservatives. He has little patience for diplomacy and sings of bombing Iran. He sometimes displays signs of pure nuttiness.

Maybe you are right Gus. I may no longer be in the GOP if it doesn't totally reconstitute itself. They deserved every defeat they have taken in recent years.

I'd much rather take a chance on Obama. First, for what it will mean for race relations in the long term. He will pull his party and the nation away from the divisive approach we are used to. He is bringing millions into the process. He is an inspired speaker who has shown great organization in defeating the Clinton machine.

On the other hand, if he ends up being a bad president and all the things you fear come true, the GOP can then regain it's moral authority and power under new leadership.

Until then, good luck supporting the same old Washington insider, lobby based government we have come to know.

McCain didn't say he wants a one hundred year war. In fact, just the opposite. If we are at peace with a nation, it is beneficial to have strategic military bases around the world, much like we currently have in Japan and South Korea. In that regard, he is right.

You cannot dispute that both are qualified. The question I pose is what are the true reasons white rural and middle class in Ohio don't support Obama, but white, rural in all classes in Iowa overwhelmingly did. What is the difference in these 2 populations? I've lived/worked in Ohio most of my years so I am used to it. When I get out of town visitors/relatives,, they notice right away and always seem to mention that Akron and Ohio in general is a "good old boys town" and Hilary is more aligned with that club more than Obama. Most of my progressive, open-minded classmates/peers leave Ohio because it is stifling for the young who believe that the world can be what you make it. Unless you follow the status quo in Akron,,life is hard for those who think outside the box. I reiterate from my previous comment,,It is terribly misguided for blacks or anyone to vote or not vote for someone because of their race, sex, name etc. Please don't insult our intelligence to say 90% of us are voting for him "only" because he is black. Blacks(and smart"rich", out of box thinking folks of all colors) are overwhelmingly voting for Obama because they see a qualified person,, who happens to be black(Lord knows there are enough negative images of blacks,,so whats so wrong about blacks being proud of him?)
Could it be people of Ohio liked Hilary better. not because she's white

The question I pose how come Black inner city poeple dont support Hillary. Is it because she's white???
Your statement above is sounding very hipacritical.
And yes I voted for Obama and so did alot of black people. As qualified as he is you are only kidding yourself that is racial background dosen't play a factor in black communities

This is life. We don't get the choice of having it just one way. It always comes down to weighing the good and the bad. In this case, I see Obama as a better choice than McCain or Hillary. It may even turn out to be a great choice. He seems to have a cooler head. He tries to heal wounds rather than aggravate them, to bring parties together. An Obama presidency will shake up Washington more than any administration since Reagan, maybe longer.
In the meantime, maybe the GOP can start rebuilding the party with new leadership that hasn't gotten fat and happy on lobbyist jets and junkets.

I am a white guy who prefers Obama as well. However, McCain would be my second choice over Hillary simply because he has also demonstrated the ability to work the other side of the aisle over the years. Hillary, on the other hand cannot unite her own party let alone the opposition party. It will not matter in Ohio as it will go republican unless The Dems resurrect Lester Maddox or somebody comparable as their VP on the ticket.
Ditto for the above comments...crossed over to vote for Obama, and will look at McCain for those reasons as well...Hillary is bought and paid for by special interest groups...I don't believe either of them can get us out of this war quickly but at least put a plan together to get it started...I'd like to say the hell with Foreign Diplomacy at this time and let's look inward to solve some of our problems at home !
