here is the sad part of it. While it was an error and a lot of people took advantage of it (10 minutes a car X 3 hours = 18 people /pump). the owner of the gas station only makes about .10 cents a gallon under regularly priced gas.

So we'll say a 12 gallon tank on all those cars = he would make $21.60 after the 18 cars filled up. Gas stations actually make all their money on the sodas, chips, cigarettes etc. Not the gas. That is just the bait.

But in this current society of "Not my fault", people will take advantage of everyone they can, whenever they can.

Now the thing those people, and Californians also, there is a law in effect in most states that would allow the gas station owner to charge any credit cards. Basically the statute says "That a price that any reasonable person would know is a mistake is grounds." This keeps stores from having to sell stereos that should be $200.00 from selling them for $20.00
