In my opinion, he left the UK to come here & make his fortune. He is certainly a multi-millionaire & any controversy that surrounds him makes his controversial azz even more money. He is a putz. Although I think that he is an azzhole, that is his right. Problem is that he is taking that to the bank!!
Quit watching or listening to his programs & he will still be VERY wealthy for being a butthead. He still makes $$$ for being in the news

With 200 yrs of colonial history & 200 plus years of national history AND the 2nd amendment, that will never happen.
It's a statistical fact that the cities AND states with strict firearm laws have the highest crime/murder rates, Chicago, D.C., Detroit etc. Explain that if you can.
In fact, Conn. is judged as the 5th strictest of laws. We just need better screening of purchasers.

Sadly, increased regulation will not help anything. Mental health problems need to be more closely examined, even this will not eliminate these problems. The sad fact is, more people need to take personal responsibility for their own safety.

How do we prevent 60,000 automobile deaths a year on America's highways? Less automobiles, raise the driving age or stricter laws. The answer is none of the above. The fact is that we will never stop it no more then we will stop nut cakes doing stupid stuff. People have killed people long before guns and guns are just one of the many instruments used to do this. Do away with guns and people will use more bombs and every other thing.

You just refuse to understand or can't understand. Same results.
There are approx 280,000,000 firearms in this country. There is NO way to keep guns from criminals, that's already against the law, There is no logistical way to collect 280,000,000 fire arms in 50 yrs! IF that were possible to do, arms would get smuggled in from China, Russia, Mexico, and dozens of other countries, just like sex slaves, illegal aliens, drugs & more things.
You are naive & possibly too idealistic & non-comprehensive of the matter.
As far as my caring about kids, do NOT make baseless accusations just to argue.
I coached & reffed youth futball for well over decade including being an executive board member. I also worked with scouts for 2 years.

Timothy McVey killed 168 people, which included 19 children. 680 more were injured.

He did not have a gun.

Evil is Evil. By taking guns away from law abiding citizens you only make all vulnerable.

Its a total waste of time trying to explain to them that its a further precautionary measure. They're a nation where school massacres are an endemic part of their culture.

In an effort to help you understand, reread #'s 4,6,8 & 9. Together they paint a more complete explaination of why things are the way that they are.
Then I will add that before Sparrow posted, The NRA had already posed armed security at schools. Also I would like to point out again that ALL of these shootings/mass murders occurred at schools' shopping malls & cinemas in NO gun zones. These murderers may be insane but insane people are not necessarily stupid. Their 'targets' were defenseless & they knew it. So disarming the populace is not the answer. NOW IF the federal gov or state gov will take a lesson from the schools that have been proactive, the issue should improve.
There are school districts here that permit or even advocate armed teachers & faculty after training or police security & NOT one of them have had a single incident to date.
I have a Concealed Carry Deadly Weapon license myself intended for defense, that require government sanctioned classes with target range tests. AND a Sheriff background check. I believe that there should be a cursory medical/mental background ck too but laws will need to be changed to allow that in the U.S.. There is a primary axiom here: Outlaw guns & only Outlaws will have guns.

George III was a motivator to the U.S.'s 2nd amendment.
As far as Piers goes, He learned from Simon Cowel (sp) Rush Limbaugh, Howard Stern & others that controversy makes money. They do not have to believe what they put on the air waves, just count the money because of what they put on the air waves.

You made a statement that I need to respond to. "The rest of the world thinks your gun laws are crazy..." Much of Asia, most of Africa & a lot of South & Central America don't seem to have any gun laws or at least there are minimal enforcements. Even parts of Europe have lax gun laws. Many of these same parts of the world are the largest producers of Cocaine, Heroin, Pot & Then there's simple lawlessness, trafficking in slavery, trade in endangered animals, including 'parts of' & assassinations to protect those 'trades' besides political assassinations.
Heck, some of these places stone adulterers to death or amputate body parts or execute people without judicial process & there are NO ramifications.
So please refrain from such all encompassing statements as "...the rest of the world..." Thank you.

What's your point? Other than just being mean?
I personally don't think that the U,S. belonged in 'nam. And IF the French would have handled 'French Indo-China' successfully, the U.S. wouldn't have been there. Simular to Europe in 1917-1918 , then Europe, Asia & Africa in 1941-1945. Korea in & 1950-1953. Then U.S. aid in the Falklands in 1982, Croatia, Kuwait & Iraq too.
The Phillipines, Liberia, Cuba & Panama would NOT be independent countries, the U.S. colonize or fight these countries, the U.S. made these countries free. The U.S. returned islands to Japan after WWII, can't say that about the U.S.S.R. returning lands to Japan.
It isn't a completely star studded record for the last 120 yrs or so, but it still shines.
IF any posters on here know of a perfect country, please share the info. Utopia may be out there somewhere. Let's all keep looking for it.

Oh, by the way, it is my understanding that only four countries export more food than they import to help feed the world, guess what one of them is. The other 3 are Argentina, Australia & Canada.
Beef, lamb, mutton, poultry, corn, oats, wheat, barley, soybeans, numerous fruits & vegetables and more.

Argentina 1982
there was a load of bloody fairies in
Buenos Bloody Aires
With greasy hair and sweaty bums
and they'd never heard of boddingtons

A different culture and a different race
no chippies in the fuckin place
you can keep that poof ardiles
we goin have you're Malvinas
eh up eh up
They got our backs up without a doubt
time to sort those bastards out
Costa Mendez lived in fear
of real men who could hold their beer.
eh eh eh eh
the lads are on their way
with their bayonets and their tommy guns
and their bellies full of boddingtons.

Fray Bentos and cheap red wine
is all they eat in the Argentine
But after a scrap with English Navy
they'll ask for the recipe for chips and gravy.

You Win, U.S. loses, Piers stays here. Although he did say that if certain laws aren't changed he would leave so there is still hope.
