The few comments on here talk about firing family, etc. Sr. has always had issues dealing with family and the business over the years. But regardless of what played out to get to this point, Paulie's creativity built that business..........period. Sr. might have financially backed the start up, but it was all Paulie, Vinnie and crew from there. Sr. doesn't have half the knowledge those guys have when it comes to building a custom bike. What goes around comes around!!!! Sr. is an egotistical idiot that always put everything else before his family. He loves that stupid dog more than his sons. At least on the surface and through his actions, that's the way it appears to me. Sr. will get what he deserves in the end. With OCC out of the public eye, I bet all that capital he invested in the new headquarters, etc. will bring the company down. I guess time will tell.
I agree 100%, the old man had to hire a few guys to replace Paul Jr . Paul Jr was the designer and builder at the same time , and had a life to live out side the shop . The old many thought Jr should be there every minute of the day knocking out beautiful bikes . When you're doing a project like those bikes , some times you run out of ideas and it's good to get away for a few hours and think a little . The old man never considered any of that , he just wanted every thing done as fast as he could think it . The creative process doesn't work that way .
While a agree it's hard to work with family , I know I worked with my son for 15 years . You do a lot of tongue biting .

Jr loves muff diving more than working. Once he met his g/f, he bailed on OCC.

Time will tell. Lost the vision of what was all about. Building outrages bikes. Sr does not get it. without Jr there is not show. Jr creativity/innovation made the show what is was, and for Mike grow-up get a hair cut and a bath.

With the recent demise of American Chopper, it is rather serendipitous that Vinnie DiMartino and Cody Connelly from V-Force Customs will be making their return to television on February 14, 2010.

The sons had no work ethic and thats what the old man would always have issues with. Didnt matter how good or bad Jr. was at building bikes. Sr. asked the boys to pick a time they would come into work and stick with it.
Thats the problem with a lot of younger generation now. A lot of them have no work ethic. You see so many people could care less if they are on time. Its a matter of self pride in one's work eithic to be on time to your job whether you like your job or not.
The sons didnt care if they were late. They didnt care that they would be gone for hours during their lunch break.
The old man was on time everyday and had a great work ethic whether he was a grumpy AH or not. He was on time and that what he asked of his sons.
The fame and fortune got the best of them and they became pre-madonnas. Junior thought he was god's gift to bike building and felt he didnt have to work his set hours. Even though he agreed to the hours.
work ethic was a big issue. Not skill of the kids. They boys wanted to come and go as they pleased and not take responsibility for the committment they made when they agreed to have set hours.
work ethic. sad how many people dont have it now a days.

I read on another forum like this someone make a good point; how long do you think it will be before OCC has to declare bankruptcy? Think about it. All of those companies asking to have 'Theme Bikes' created knew there would be a good amount of long term free advertising involved by the shows airing and reruns. Now with no incentive, it is just a cute waist of $100,000 for a company. Before they could probably place it in the 'Advertising/Marketing' bucket; now... when deciding to lay off a guy or build a bike, these companies will probably not be calling OCC. And that new building? What do you think the mortgage is on that place? TLC / Discovery was their lifeline to a successful empire. And although I admit I do not have 1st hand knowledge, I consistently hear that the quality of their production bikes is awful. With this reputation, they will have a hard time making it.

The life preserver.... and maybe the only chance... Paul Jr. comes back and they keep building bikes together. Without this, Paul Sr. might be back to building bikes out of his basement. Wouldn't that be something? Things really do come full circle.
