"Dog's barking saves 6 people; heroic husky killed in fire."
That headline is just one example of how barking has saved people throughout the history of man and dog. Montgomery Town Board just passed the most fascist law I have heard of in a long time.
A dog can only bark for 10 minutes in one hour or three, five minute barks in one hour. In the name of all that's holy, what is wrong with these people? Dogs are supposed to bark. Of course, not at night for a long time or even a continuous daytime barking, but are they going to arrest a pet sitter or make a person give up a dog, if he is barking at a workman? You know, some geezer with a stopwatch is going to turn you in. The fine is a minimum of $75. and or 15 days in jail. We will soon be a nation of zombies; all alike with no quirks or foibles. I sure would not want to live in Montgomery.

Too many people let their dogs bark for too long. It's extremely selfish & inconsiderate of your neighbors and leads to a lower quality of life in the neighborhood.

I think 10 minutes an hour is too much time to allow barking.

Thank you very much. I am considerate of the neighbors, but I once had a young dog who had previoulsy been mistreated and barked alot. I was working with her and doing my best, but some neighbors called and swore at me over the phone, one of whom was the guy who smoked on his porch every morning and woke me up with his continual hacking cough.
